I saw something completely different than what you're describing...

    modern football:

attacking style with well organized defence

and what about the match, first half germany should lead 3:0 or so, one not given penalty, second half after the 2:0 germany controlled the match too, at the end it was a little after the 2:1 there was not much from czechs to see, some medicore free kicks

Not surprising you forget the part in the second half where the Czechs were playing you of the pitch and they should have made the equalizer...

Germany scored the 2-0 against the run of play, of course it's all over after that.

First half Germany were better, second half the Czechs were better.

It's a shame to see that Czechs are no longer the team they were a couple of years ago, that team really should have won something Sad

Oh and by the way : I do think this might be a (very ?) strong German team again.....but for a completely different set of reasons than you do Wink

My thoughts exactly. Even if I'm going to be hit upside the head by the rest of the German contingent for being a pessimist and exceedingly negative: There were parts of the match that were downright boring...

I think we were the better team most of the time last night. If the referee had not denied us that clear penalty, it would have been 3:0. Instead the Czechs scored a pretty lucky goal and since they had nothing to lose anymore they tried everything the could while we got somewhat nervous in the end. Still an important win and a good game.

Axe, the Czechs never played us "off the pitch" yesterday, not even in the second half, in those ~10 minutes when they tried to equalise our lead. How many good chances did the Czechs have in the whole game? Most of their better chances were long range shots, all of them no problem for Lehmann with the exception of that very lucky deflected shot by Baros that lead to the goal.

The match was in Prague, but it really looked like we were playing in Germany. We should used our chances better and the match would have been over much earlier. And we should have gotten that clear penalty also.

As far as the thread goes, it's megalomaniac nonsense. We are on course, already one of the very best teams in the world, but we have not won anything yet. Let's qualify for the EC 2008 first, and then win the tournament, before talking about "dominating" anything.
