Relegation from La Liga

So the race to retain primera status so just like the thread on the Premiership vote for the three that you think will drop down a division.

The current table stands as.....

16. Levante 28

So the fixtures today for those teams with a game in hand.....

Nastic vs Recreativo
Racing vs Athletic
Celta vs Real Madrid

Nastic, Sociedad and Levante

Looks like we are in agreement... Nastic (unfortunately), la Real and Levante.

They are the three easy choices and I had to go for those three too. But still - I think all three are capable of staying up.

Though I want Levante to be the 3rd team to go down, I actually voted Athletic because unfortunately I can't see them staying up. They're beating Racing right now though.

So everyone thinks Nastic will go down. It seems the general consensus. Shame they are a man down - otherwise I would have fancied them to beat Recre today.

Levante are a funny one. I was raving about them at the start of the season as their activity in the summer was very impressive. In the first game away at Sevilla though they took a thumping and they don't seem to have ever been able to fully recover. They have a small cushion over the sides directly below them though which will count in their favor. Contrary to you Kas - I hope they stay up.

The two Basque teams & Nastic imo.

I hope at least one of the Basque teams stay up - probably Athletic.

So in the two weeks since this thread was posted things have gone the way everyone has voted. Levante occupy the third relegation spot along with Nastic and Sociedad. The two teams right at the bottom seem to be down and out of it one week and then back in with a shout the next. This week has been a good one. Both won, and the gap is down to six points to Celta in 17th. No doubt next week they will be down again. Here are the fixtures until June 17th then......

After they have been exposed of for paying off the refs with Laporta doing a "moggi" whilst stripping off at a local airport.

I don't know why but I dislike them.

Nastic 0-3 Villarreal
Barcelona 1-0 Levante
Athletic 1-4 Real Madrid
Getafe 1-0 Sociedad
Celta 0-3 Mallorca

So all the sides lost this weekend. Other than Sociedad - even though they had a knock back this week- all look very poor.

Levante wouldn't have expected to win this weekend but the failiure to see of Betis and Getafe at home could cost them. Nastic look dead and buried. The Stoichkov honeymoon is over at Celta whilst Athletic look hopeless.

If I was pushed to give a three right now I'd bank for Athletic, Levante and Nastic.
