AZ - Bremen 0-0 FT. Chances about 50/50, AZ 65-70% possession, mailny wating for a chance on a break. And worst of all a cuntish cowardish ref, always giving the defender a freekick in duels with strikers.
Will be more interesting in Bremen. AZ will not defend like Bremen did.

Re: UEFA Cup Q/F [1st leg] thread
Final score 2-1 to Spurs. I was quite impressed by their performance, and Sevilla weren't as good, looking very disjointed and faded towards the end. I actually think Spurs will go through in the 2nd leg. Home advantage will be a big help for them, and the movement they have up front will really trouble the Sevilla defence again.
Espanyol-Benfica was 3-2. Good comeback by Benfica from 3-0, and that match is also 50-50.

Sevilla disappointing. I actually think Spurs had the greater chances overall.

Will there be a 2nd leg after all that shit in the stands??? UEFA laid down a precedent when they kicked out Feyenoord.

And it should have been 1-1 - they penalty decision was poor.
Sevilla controlled the midfield but Spurs' forwards caused problems

There's a chance that Spurs may get reprimanded - not sure how severe the problems were in the Feyenoord game

Yup, it was hilarious, esp. since the linesman gave the foul anyway

Re: UEFA Cup Q/F [1st leg] thread
Sevilla were poor in the 2nd half but luckily for them spurs couldn't capitalize.
Overall a draw would have been a fair result. The tie is wide open and both teams have a chance to go through.

I don't know Puro, Spurs are quite good at home. Sevilla also have a slightly tricky match in the league this weekend against Racing Santander.

Seville looked very average, Alves didnt live up to the hype. Its the second time I have watched him from start to finish (he was awful against united) and I must say I have been dissapointed.
Spurs were robbed by the ref, what a complete homeblower, Seville are hard to like with all there diving and feigning injuries (the worst thing in football). I hope Spurs go through, although there fans are ejits (ones in the stadium).

Re: UEFA Cup Q/F [1st leg] thread
It's a GREAT result - Sevilla really seemed to run out of steam. The last 20 mins we controlled IMO, and Malbranque had a couple of Chances.
Robbie Keane & Berbatov are So intelligent - Keane in Particular, moving onto the left which essentially curbed the threat of Alves. I won't get overexcited, but it's a wide open tie, and we've proved our technical skill against a top La Liga side
Robinson - 7
Stalteri - 6
Dawson - 6
Chimbonda - 7
Tainio - 6
Zokora - 8
Jenas - 7
Lennon - 5
Keane - 8
Berbatov - 7
Subs: Malbranque - 6, Ghaly - 6.

Re: UEFA Cup Q/F [1st leg] thread
In the summer, we won 3-0 it was a friendly, so I guess you cant read that much into it. Ronaldo/Giggs made him look like a pub player.
I heard he has been awesome this season, so I shouldnt really read to much into it, as Rooney and Ronaldo have looked pretty verage in alot of european games. I think, I was expecting too much, because of the way people talk about him on these boards, hopefuly he will show his true game in the second leg.

Re: UEFA Cup Q/F [1st leg] thread
sevilla are prob the worst in spain in terms of diving, navas esp is very annoying but i can see why he does it but still dont like it. but sevilla didnt deliver. but they are versatile side and their can play away type football better. also they are more suited for playing english sides because they play a higher tempo then most spanish teams. its 55%-45% for sevilla. may the most attacking team winRez wrote:Seville looked very average, Alves didnt live up to the hype. p.s. alves is great and there was clear evidence of that when they played barca with 10 men and he was motm playing almost like a playmaker at times.

VERY generous ratings from TS there, i don't think anyone was worth an 8 and Jenas certainly wasn't worth a 7.

Alves is great offensively. I don't think i have seen a full back ( or even a winger for that matter) put in so many quality crosses with great consistency as he has done this season. He isn't that all defensively though, espcially against tricky wingers.
..think he should play on the wing or on the right of a 3 man midfield.
