I think Newcastle have the best home record against the top 4 sides. See all you have to do now beat the poorer sides and you can fight for CL places again.

They have a talented squad but need to buy a new defense and get a WC manger to win anything.
PS Emre is a good player.

Funny how we only play well in games where Roeder doesn't need to motivate the players. Roeder out!

You can have him, he's one of the players i would be looking to offload in the summer. Today he was decent enough but usually he's a passenger. All his set pieces end up hitting the first man, when he's pressured his passing goes all over the place, he's easily bullied out of the game, he's got temper problems, he hardly gets any goals or assists despite apparently being our most creative player, he's injury prone, and he's on ridiculous wages.
I'd accept anything over £3m for him tbh.

Nail on the head Kimbo. For all his talent Emre is far too quiet in games and almost never has an impact.

IMOPoor management, there is no reason why someone as talented as him to be any worse or even equal to Parker. Emre is your most creative player and should b your second best player after Martins.

The problem is he's injured too often to ever get a regular run in the side. And he's creative, sure, but that's all I ever hear about him. Apart from that he doesn't seem to do *anything*. I don't think he's that great a player that the Newcastle team needs to be built around him.

He's just not that talented though. He has to be our most overrated player, in his 2 years here i've seen nothing apart from a handful of games to suggest he is a good creative player. He seems to be good at passing across the pitch, that's it, i can't recall him ever making a defence splitting pass and he rarely puts a good ball in the box.

Pfft, what an awful performance from us. No offence to Newcastle fans, but we should be able to score past a defence with Harper, Bramble and Carr in it.
Still, a point is better than nothing, but it gets us nowhere closer to United (might have done had Boro been awarded a penalty yesterday, but that's in the past).
Anyway, ratings (gonna be very harsh on our offensive players today):
Cech 6
Ferreira 5
Terry 6
Carvalho 6
Bridge 6
SWP 5
Makelele 5
Lampard 4
Ballack 5
Drogba 5
Kalou 4
SUBS:
Joe Cole 6
Mikel 6
Sheva 5

Watching the highlights of Saturday's games...Mourinho is quick to mouth off about penalties, but he conveniently ignored Solskjaer's perfectly legitimate (and very clever) goal when he nicked it off Schwarzer.

Henry had a goal identical to that disallowed against Blackburn a couple of seasons ago, and Shearer found a law which he read on MOTD last night which proved the ref was right to disallow it.

I didn't get that either. Shouldn't it only be a foul if Solskjaer impeeds the keeper, as in touch him?

Something about that its a foul if the keeper is imbeded from releasing the ball and that releasing the ball includes the fluid movement of letting go of the ball and then kicking it - the keeper didn't get to kick it hence why it was a foul

He didnt seem to be too bothered about Terry playing rush goal keeper for two seasons though. They were both penalties, but we have been denied penaltyies as well.
Oh and Peacock can shut up about teams not getting pens at OT. I am pretty sure we have had more pens against us at OT than Chelsea this season.

Henry once did the same thing to Friedel. He wasnt booked but the goal wasnt given either.

And typical Mourinho, trying to deflect attention of his own team's failure at the end of the game and talking about Man. Utd.'s lucky penalties, etc. this season. I wonder how long he'll last under the supposed "4 new rules" that have been set down for him to stay at Chelsea.
I wouldn't mind it so much (Fergie used to do it all the time) if it wasn't that you had people like BBC and Sky saying how great it is, that he reacts like that.

he has been saying for weeks how
'when united play well they win and when united do not play well they are given a penalty and win'
then suddenly united have two stonewall penalties not given against them in a week
it's pretty obvious what his comments were going to be on the subject yesterday
It is funny how he doesn't mention that chelsea have basically been allowed to have three goalkeepers with cech, terry and carvalho over the past few seasons. his selective memory is priceless

Shame he does not work in a democracy ...
Jose Mourinho will have to agree to four strict rules laid down by Roman Abramovich if he wants to stay as Chelsea manager and they are:
Work on all football matters with Frank Arnesen
Maintain a lower media profile
Never criticise the board or club policy
Start producing entertain football

The bad guy..
The one we all love to hate..
It would be much less fun without him
we would be left with a childish, drunk scot telling us ronaldo does not dive
rafa answering 'for sure' to every question
and wenger getting more and more bitter as the trophyless seasons go on
