good for milan but to win the league i think they will need a top cb and now they might not go for one. it would unbeliveable if milan once again missed a chance to renew blood in the backline.

    Aw Cr@p!!

Its Moratti's fault, why does he like Recoba too much... a move away will be good for both the player and club. Coz Mancio just does not have the same confidence in the player...

Alvaro Recoba says he was so moved by the Scudetto celebrations, he is now “70 per cent sure” he will stay at Inter.

HATS OFF TO YOU, SIR ALEX

Sir Alex Ferguson paints the perfect picture of sportsmanship with the tribute he made to Milan

I would bet on Milan, absolutely. I said this to Carlo too; he knows that he can’t not win this Champions League. Carlo gave me a magnificent bottle of wine at the end of the game at the San Siro. I told him: It doesn’t make sense for you to give me this if you don’t win in Athens because I will drink this only if you raise the Champions League cup.’

Ferguson continued: ‘Milan are going to Athens thanks to one of the best games in their history. It is why I am still trying to understand what made us fall. Milan were fresher, better prepared physically and technically.’

Udinese defender Cristian Zapata is ready to leave his current club in the hope of joining Italian giants Milan.

The 20-year-old has attracted the interest of several sides and has admitted that his departure from the Zebrette at the end of the season is almost certain.

“I have spoken with the Udinese management about my future and I am 70 per cent sure I will leave,” said the Colombian.

“Right now, however, I want to think about my current team and focus on the end of the season. Then, when the championship is over, I will talk with other teams,” added the stopper.

Zapata is wanted by a host of sides given his ability, but he seems to have clear ideas about how he wants his future to shape out.

“Both Fiorentina and Milan are interested in me,” he continued.

“I would prefer Milan because of their overall value and for the squad in general, but playing for Fiorentina would also represent a positive choice for my career.”

Both clubs are keen on new defenders as Milan will lose Alessandro Costacurta, and possibly Paolo Maldini, to retirement.

Fiorentina need rearguard reinforcements seeing as Dario Dainelli will leave on a free after failing to agree terms over a new deal.

The San Siro side are reportedly ready to offer £5m plus the co-ownership of forward Marco Borriello. The Viola plan a similar deal by including Reginaldo in their bid.

    Lazio Chasing Cagliari's Suazo

Lazio have their eyes set on David Suazo as a possible summer purchase.

David Suazo is ready to leave Cagliari in the summer, and several clubs have already shown interest in signing the Honduran forward.

Lazio are among those clubs now, with president Claudio Lotito having put him at the top of his shopping list.

"Suazo is an excellent striker," said Lotito, making no secret of his desire.

"He’s being followed by many clubs, and you know our purchases are based on three principles: technical capabilities, fair play and whether they player has an affordable price."

The third fo those might pose problems for Lazio, though, as Cagliari will not sell him for less than 15 million euros, a rather huge sum by Lazio standards at the moment.

There will be others willing to cough up that money, which is why the promising forward is likely to join the likes of Inter or AC Milan.

I like David Suazo, explosive little striker. A good signing for Lazio for sure.
