Der Transfer von Weltmeister Luca Toni zum deutschen Rekordmeister Bayern München ist laut der italienischen Sport-Tageszeitung „Gazzetta dello Sport“ perfekt. Der 29 Jahre alte Stürmer soll zur kommenden Saison für 18 Millionen Euro vom AC Florenz nach München wechseln. Toni soll dort angeblich mehr als 5,5 Millionen Euro pro Saison verdienen. Diese Summe habe das Management des Angreifers von den Interessenten Inter Mailand, Juventus Turin und AC Mailand, der die Bayern im Champions-League-Viertelfinale ausschaltete, verlangt. „Wende im Fall Toni. Er sagt ja zu den Bayern“, schrieb die Zeitung. Die Bayern-Führung soll Toni bei einem Treffen von einem Wechsel an die Isar überzeugt haben.

According to „Gazzetta dello Sport“, Luca Toni will sign a 5 years contract at Bayern Munich. The transfer fee is about 18m Euro, and Toni will earn about 5.5m per year.

Luca Toni is allegedly a Bayern Munich player. The Fiorentina striker has accepted the German club’s offer to sign a five-year contract. The past summer, Fiorentina president Della Valle had agreed to let Toni (who wanted to join Inter) leave at the end of this season for a pre-determined sum. This meant Toni was basically free to choose his destination, as long as the club making the offer was willing to give Fiorentina that amount of money.

Among the reasons for the player’s decision, as well as the financial factor, is also Toni’s wish to not ‘betray’ Fiorentina by playing for another Italian team.

I don´t know how reliable „Gazzetta dello Sport“ is, but you can read it everywhere in the media meanwhile, Effenberg. I even read it in the Bremen forum. Wink

Yeah, the transfer fee is okay. His wages are pretty high for Bundesliga standards, but from an international point of view I think it´s not overly much.

In comparison to our players, that a decent wage

I don't really see why Luca wants to move, Fiorentina are doing well in the Serie A.

Don't agree with that (Fiorentina have better players) but they are better placed to win trophies.

IMO Fiorentina should take a punt on Andrea Carraciolo as his replacement.

Him or Big Vince Iaquinta.

I agree Toni and Makaay doesn't work! because that's too static! But Klose is also a quite static player so that doesn't work either with these two players!

Klose would have been FAR BETTER though simply because he works a lot more for the team and knows German football

did Hoeness really offer Toni a 5 year contract ?

Toni could easily take a year just to get used to a new country/league/club

also true that Toni/Makaay would be a joke

but will Hoeness finally sell Makaay ??

still, even then Bayern would have to buy somebody who could feed Toni

I hope Hoeness is not merely buying big names for the sake of it

I don't think it's as big a shock anymore to see big players move to the Bundesliga...now it's not just Bayern, but also Schalke who have a lot of money coming in, and Bremen as regular CL entrants. So the league in general is earning more money, the clubs are getting more European exposure, and the fans are great as always.
