The stats show that a team challenging for the domestic league rarely goes on to win the League and Champions League double, never mind doing a treble or quadruple.

Milan and Liverpool have had near enough fit squads to choose from in the semis, where as Man Utd and Chelsea had some key players missing.

Congratulations to Liverpool and Milan for getting to the final, for the neutrals it will be better than watching Man Utd v Liverpool.

Maybe Liverpool vs Milan will also be a cracker, but for me these two games (between Man United and Milan) were good enough to be the final ok

Benitez starts the season specifically to win the CL, so am I surprised? No. Tactically he is a better manager then Ferguson and this is where cup games are decided.

Useless domestically though because to win the league nowadays you need to show creatively consistently which isn't really in Benitez's remit. I guarantee that Liverpool will never win the Premiership with him at the helm.

It's cups or the league, it'll never be both, and that's my honest non-WUM assessment.

I am quite surprised. I didn't think ManU would get destroyed by Milan today.

At least we won't have to hear Tweedle posting about an all english final for the next 20 years Wink

I don't rate Simao or think he would be a success in the Premiership. Everyone is so sure Alvez would be a success but he won't move to Liverpool anyway so it's moot.

I'm not afraid of Liverpool in the league and haven't been for a decade and a half and I ain't gonna start now without some real evidence. Sorry Wink

Gobshite, I don't think I said anything about your post being factually inaccurate. It was more to do with the sheer amount of bitterness it's laced with.

It's staggering that on this bored an Arsenal and Juventus fan are more upset about Liverpools win than the United and Chelsea fans. There you go. Small time I guess.
