2 + Marseille play the French Cup Final v Sochaux this weekend.

If Marseilles buy some decent defenders they could suprise people in the CL - not many would fancy defending against *Ribery, Nasri and Niang (best penalty taker in the world BTW).

It wasn't that long ago that Nantes were French champions! They've always produced top talent, I expect they'll be back with a new crop of promising footballers before too long.

Its a shame to see the club that produced Marcel Desailly and Didier Deschamps go down, those two were absolute top class footballers.

They've got Claudiu Keseru (Romanian) and Dimitri Payet (French)
who are both very talented young forwards.


They've also got a defender called Jean Jacques Pierre which is probably the most French name ever.

He was roundly booed, because the fans preferred Pagis, and he kept on missing sitters. But recently he's started scoring again, so things have got better.

People talk only of Ribery and Cisse but never Niang who is class - he would be good for 'pool.

Can't stand Niang personally - Reminds me of Arouna Koné in that he can't bloody finish.
