Why Schalke HAVE to win the Bundesliga ?

I thought about it long and hard and came to the following conclusion:

if you turn left at the next traffic light, follow the bike lane, cross the street after about 500 metres and take a right at the Post Office,

ALL WILL BE WELL

since Allofs and Schaaf NEVER listen to my advice, I now want Schalke to lift the Salad-Bowl

let's face it, this was WErder's season to win from the outset, a majority of Bundesliga fans even picked them over double-Double champs Bayern

Schalke should NEVER have been in contention

their players are worse than those of Werder or Bayern; the commercial management was mostly famous for grand-standing and in-fighting; their coach was a complete novice on probation (who took massive risks by benching Rost in favour of the KID, Neuer, between the goalposts); at one point the team was split into two camps; they then went on a media strike; and when the key phase of the season began, key players like Kuranyi and Lincoln got injured

and YET

Bayern and WErder kept GIVING and GIVING and GIVING...

Schalke have the BEST fans in the Bundesliga, together with Dortmund and Gladbach

Schalke have not won the League for well over 40 years

they are like an upmarket Newcastle

so whilst my heart still hopes for Klose and Frings to lift the BOWL, the head says they really don't deserve it

in other words: FORZA SCHALKE

(what an exhausting season: I started off supporting HSV, then swtiched to Bremen and now ended up with SChalke; if Stuttgart keep up their good form , I might have to reconsider yet again )

Schalke are the only team i *don't* want to win it !

It's the most boring team *ever* (and you've quite a collection and history there in Germany).

Werder can win it because they play decent football or at least try to do so, that deserves to be rewarded. Stutgart can win it because everyone loves the underdog.

Schalke however may *not* win it, Liverpool vs Chelsea were just two games : this club does it all the time

Schalke were MASSIVE underdogs compared to Bayern or Werder

IMHO they don't have enough German players + I always hated Assauer; but clearly they are moving in the right direction

German football is YEARNING for a few consistent big players alongside Bayern; Bayer have given up, Dortmund overspent, Werder under Schaaf will never win anything of international note either

Schalke have a habit of choking, but give Slomka time

they and HSV are our only hope in the medium term

long-term you could add Berlin whereas Bremen will merely become our very own Arsenal: pretty to look at , but no substance, a bit like your average Italian car

Those Bremen fans have it right

HSV is a one man team : if VDV turns up they can beat Bayern, if he doesn't they can't even win from relegation-zone teams.

Never ever have I seen a single player have so much influence on an entire team, not even Cruyff in the single season he played for Feyenoord was this influential.

If Valencia is bidding for Sneijder they can put that money to better use and fetch Raffi.....he already speaks Spanish

You serious btw, because I really find that hard to believe. United had much more going for them than Eric le Roi.

You might be right with the year though : 1995 => Le Tissier for Southampton was *massively* important. They would be relegated for sure without him. Still the difference wasn't as big as it is now for HSV.

VDV is going nowhere for the single reason that Germany needs SILVIE

apart from that, I would GLADLY sell VDV

he is an excellent player, no doubt, but he blocks the development of Trochowski

Stevens has done a brilliant rescue job but should go now; his treatment of the Troch is an insult

2. sell de Jong for ANY price; hey, PAY a club to take him

3. promote Trochowski to No 10

4. buy Jansen

5. get rid of Stevens

im not sure who i want to win. because of the Sand hype people like schalke but i would prefer werder or stuttgart. stuttgart should get a award for best turnaround. last year under trappa they were dreadfull and i couldnt believe when i saw that they were competing for the title this year. really shows how much can change in a year.and i dont think they have changed alot in the squad which i thought was quite weak last year but gomes has been good as i hear and he is the biggest symbol their turnaround.

VDV must leave HSV , Barcelona would be the ideal team to leave for.

Considering Schalke have much more supporters than Bremen it shows that most neutrals would actually prefer Werder Bremen of course.

Allofs just keeps his feet on the ground. That doesn´t mean he has no ambitions. When you compare Werder Bremen today and 1999 when Allofs started you can see how much Allofs & Co already achieved in this 8 years. But that humbleness is an unknown word to you is hardly a surprise though.
