Liverpool forwards next season
Robbie Bernard Fowler almost certainly on his way, but with Voronin coming in can Rafa keep Crouch, Voronin, Bellamy and Kuyt happy or will one of Bell-end or Crouch leave?

Re: Liverpool forwards next season
bellamy is already a goner. probably to villa for about 8 millionThe-Frank-Tavern wrote:Robbie Bernard Fowler almost certainly on his way, but with Voronin coming in can Rafa keep Crouch, Voronin, Bellamy and Kuyt happy or will one of Bell-end or Crouch leave?
it will be
crouch
kuyt
voronin
plus one
we'll also be signing a creative attacking midfielder / winger to supplement the forwards. hopefully simao because then we would finally have a set piece taker
i have no idea who the extra forward will be but he will have to be quality because the three we will already have are all similar
midfield
gerrard, mascha, alonso, pennant, garcia, kewell, lucas, leto, gonzalez, simao?
strikers
kuyt, voronin, crouch, (villa, eto )

That would be quite an elite strikeforce. Voronin isn't exactly young though is he?

I don't know the first thing about himSilver surfer wrote:That would be quite an elite strikeforce. Voronin isn't exactly young though is he?
he is fowler's replacement as the fourth choice striker and was free. baffling signing but may turn out useful

Re: Liverpool forwards next season
To me he's like Dirk Kuyt version 2, I think he's about 27. God knows what part he'll play in the team. As you said though your going to need to get a pacy striker if Bellers leaves.

Re: Liverpool forwards next season
Well reports are that we've signed Lucas from Gremio for £4.5m. Supposedly a young Alonso-esque player who's got a bit more going forward.
Thank God we got another CM, we were getting a bit low there

Re: Liverpool forwards next season
Andriy Voronin is confident he can make a positive impact at Anfield next season.
The Ukrainian striker will join Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer and the prospect of playing in the Premiership is one that excites him.
"If you talk about the physical factor, self-commitment and the compactness of the game itself, then English football is very much like the German game, though there is less time to control the ball or decide what to do. That means you have to think more quickly, play more of a one-touch game.
"But Liverpool are not a typical British team. I would say they have a Spanish accent which makes their football more diverse and less predictable.
"As for individuals being able to show their talents, just look at Cristiano Ronaldo. He has proved what you can achieve if you combine talent with hard work."
On agreeing to sign a pre-contract agreement with the Reds, the 27-year old added: "There were some interesting offers even before the World Cup but we decided not to hurry. When we started talking about Liverpool, everything clicked into place.
"I have not been to Liverpool yet. I will be catching up with that at the end of the season when I intend to study English intensively.
"I am excited about England, the football there is very exciting, and it is a challenge that suits me. I am ready to give everything to be a success at Liverpool."

Re: Liverpool forwards next season
So Vorinin, Kuyt, Crouch and one other.
That one other is going to have to be world class, to make up for the rest.

Re: Liverpool forwards next season
Actually Voronin is a pretty bad striker, decent but strange 4th choice because I like my 4th choice strikers to be young so they can improve and become 1st,2nd choices.

I would much rather have had pongolle return as the fourth choice but rafa has chose voroninDark Savante wrote:Actually Voronin is a pretty bad striker, decent but strange 4th choice because I like my 4th choice strikers to be young so they can improve and become 1st,2nd choices.
fowler has barely played this season though so if voronin does force his way into the reckoning then he will clearly be doing well enough. if he doesn't it's just a free signing who can be moved on at the end of the season

Re: Liverpool forwards next season
I can only really think that the move was orchestrated prior to Hicks & Gillet coming in, then finalised shortly after. Really is a puzzler. At least his wages shouldn't be too high.

Re: Liverpool forwards next season
I think Voronin has 9 goals in 18 games in the German League. Not such a bad outout.
Liverpool need a mobile predator than gets into the box on regular opportunities. Trezeguet does seem a viable option.
