Both teams are fighting for 3rd place in the Premiership and are aiming to win the Carling Cup, Fa Cup and the Champions League. But which team will be more successful?

We're better than Arsenal.

Wouldn't mind, or be surprised, if we lost against them on Wednesday. I think we'll win the other 2 games against them and finish a good 10 points ahead of them in the league. They just don't look remotely capable - unlike when they had Pires, Vieira, Bergkamp et al - of stringing a decent run of wins together.

Arsenal have been unlucky with injuries, and the team dosn't look as though it's truly gelled yet. Plus they have the "let's pass twenty times then not shoot" style of play which makes them lose games they should be winning. So I guess Liverpool will probably have the better season.

I wouldn't be surpised if Liverpool have a slightly better season than us. To be honest though, I don't think either team will be as competitive as they should be, and I think they are both underachieving a bit. Liverpool seem to be finding some form in the league so maybe they will go on a good run, and we have the potential to do so, so hopefully we can put together a good run in one of the cups.

I think both teams should qualify for the CL still.

Liverpool are on a good run of winning games against mediocre teams of late and still have a few more of them to play so i would be surprised if the finish above arsenal in the table, since for them 3rd and a decent run in the FA cup is what is defined as success.

a successful season for either side will be a top 4 finish and a trophy. These two are the least likely of the big 4 to win the title this season, but are the most likely to win a cup competition. It is expected that the winner of te game between the sides in the league cup will win the tropy and I would go so far as to suggest that the same would apply in the FA Cup. In Europe, Liverpool can overcome Barcelona while Arsenal should beat PSV, albeit not easily. 3rd place and the league cup vs 4th place and the FA Cup? A tie perhaps, with a European run the tiebreaker.

Although they are struggling against certain teams, when henry is back they will win all them games, and they showed they are a better team in the 3-0, so i should think they will finish 3rd. I don't really care though, and it doesn't really matter so much. Guess one of them will hope to get lucky in a cup competition.

Liverpool will win this poll as they are in a good run of form and Arsenal are in a bit of a rut at the moment. I'm pretty sure Arsenal will finish higher though, but not by much. The head to heads will give them the edge.

Maybe so, but we've beaten them at Anfield both seasons under Rafa. They'll probably pick up more points against the mancs and chelsea though. I just think they're more likely to cock up a 'simple' game.

We never lose important games this season so the only way youll beat us if you arent a big team.

This is the tie of the round and I'm going for Liverpool on the basis they will want revenge for the mauling they got at the Emirates stadium earlier in the season.

Prediction: 2-1

followed by the carling cup match on tuesday i beleive.

prediction for the two games:

draw in the fa cup match maybe 1-1, followed by a arsenal win at the emirates.

Liverpool to win the carling cup match.

To be honest i'm not too bothered about the CC, especially seeing as we have Chelsea 10 days after, I'd rather lose with no injuries then win with a few injuries!

Nowadays we seem to have an art of cocking up the FA cup, I expect we'll lose, 2-0 goals from Gerrard and someone incredibly gay like Agger

I think we'll win on saturday because a lot of people (me included) are expecting us to lose. We seem to do well when we are least expected to.
