The Transfer list Empty The Transfer list

Post by Guest Mon May 14, 2007 6:39 pm

This has puzzled me for a while now...

Pretty much every Premiership club is talking about bringing in players this summer, with the new television deal providing massive funds, but where will the players come from? Is there enough talent out there to improve every squad, or will some teams worsen over the summer period.

There's always going to be foreign talents coming in, but you wouldn't expect mediocre or just-promoted teams to be able to attract talents so easily. Many Premiership clubs may have to recruit players from fellow Premiership clubs, and that bids the question: Who will sell, and who will they sell?

    Arsenal
    Likely outgoings:

    Almunia
Following the signing of a new keeper this summer, Almunia seems out of Wenger’s plans.

    Ljungberg
After a disappointing season, I wouldn’t be surprised if Wenger let him go, and replaced him with a new winger.

    Baptista
A return to Madrid is imminent.

    Aliadiere
Failed to cut it with the first team, but destroyed Liverpool reserves. Could a transfer to a lesser club be on the cards?

    Aston Villa
    Unlikely to sell during summer

    Blackburn Rovers
    Likely outgoings:

    Morten Gamst Pedersen
Following another impressive season, I wouldn’t be surprised if he left to further his career.

    Benni McCarthy
Issued a ‘come and get me’ plea to Chelsea. He wants to leave, and I don’t expect Blackburn to stop him.

    Bolton
    Likely outgoings:

    Tal Ben Haim
Decided against continuing with Bolton, He will have plenty of interested clubs trailing him this summer.

    Nicolas Anelka
No one expected him to stay at Bolton long term, but with European football on the horizon, you never know

    Charlton ( R )
    Likely Outgoings:

    Scott Carson
Won’t want to be second fiddle to Reina, so is expected to leave for around £4million

    Luke Young
The Charlton captain won’t be wanting to play in the Championship next term

    Zhi Zheng
    Left (Loan ended)

    Darren Bent
Decent striker will attract huge interest from Premiership after two impressive seasons

    Chelsea
    Possible outgoings:

    Khalid Boulahrouz
Failed to suitably impress Jose. May leave.

    Andrei Shevchenko
    Will probably return to Milan

    Everton
    Possible outgoings:

    Manuel Fernandes
May attract interest from top clubs, and Everton may not have the funds to finalise the deal keeping him there.

    James Beattie
After another $h!t year, he should be on his way out

    Fulham
    Possible outgoings:

    Vincenzo Montella
Doesn’t want to stay in England

    Liverpool
    Possible outgoings:

    Dudek
    Will go abroad

    Boudewijn Zenden
    Contract is expiring (I think)

    Fowler
    Gone

    Craig Bellamy
Expected to leave in the summer.

    Manchester City
    Possible outgoings:

    Joey Barton
Leaving after being a twat, again.

    Manchester United
    Possible outgoings:

    Alan Smith
Work rate is there, but lacks quality of teammates

    Louis Saha
Chance he will leave, I think

    Middlesbrough
    Possible outgoings:

    Mark Viduka
    Contract Expires

    Yakubu Aiyegbeni
    Wants out.

    Newcastle
    Possible outgoings:

    Titus Bramble
    Rubbish player

    Albert Luque
    Awful in premiership

    Portsmouth:
    Possible outgoings:

    Nwankwo Kanu
    May leave after contract expires

    Reading
    Don’t expect anyone to leave

    Sheffield ( R )
    Possible Outgoings:

    Patrick Kenny
    Wanted by Sunderland

    Phil Jagielka
Will probably leave to achieve Premiership ambitions

    Tottenham
    Possible Outgoings:

    Danny Murphy
    Not needed by club

    Hossam Ahmed Mido
    Fallen out of favour

    Watford ( R )
    Possible outgoings:

    Hameur Bouazza
Will want to play Premiership football

    West Ham
    Possible outgoings:

    Nigel Reo-Coker
Wants out, fans don’t like him

    Carlton Cole
    Not needed

    Carlos Tevez
    Will probably leave

    Wigan
No idea! Will be massive changes, apparently.

So, there is a large amount of players on the move...Most to further their careers though. I don't see how midtable and below clubs are going to attract players with Premiership experience. Maybe they won't.

We are being linked with Scott Parker again. Rumour has it that he is unsettled up North, wants to come back down here. Curbishley and him get on...Reo-Coker could be offered in exchange, Allardyce is a big fan of Reo-Coker.

I think you should add Cisse to the outgoings list for Liverpool.

Would you prefer Parker to Reo-Cocker? I'm not sure I would. If Reo-Cocker could go back to the form he showed in his first Premiership season, then he'd definitely be my choice ahead of Parker.

    Good thread CT. <Ale>

I would think that Flamini will be added to that list as he has had limited football this season and Diaby and Denilson Neves have shown to have more promise than him.

Almunia is being targetted by Spanish clubs and Aliadiere is reportedly interesting Middlesbrough.

I can't see Parker leaving this summer. And i don't get where the unsettled rumours have come from, we've seen or heard nothing from him to suggest this. <Ale>

I haven't seen any Parker rumours either, and I don't think Newcastle would let one of their better players go this summer.

Newcastle are going to be ace with big Sam Imo.

depends who we get in. but there will definitely be some outgoings to clear space in the squad.

samuel, sutton, djemba-djemba, hendrie will be gone for sure

hughes, mccann, ridgewell, davis (hopefully not), sorensen or taylor (if we get a new keeper) are all possibilities

delaney & berger depends on whether they sign new contracts

however, o'neill has implied we won't really be looking to sell until we've got players in so with people like ridgewell it probably depends. personally i hope ridge & davis only go on loan, if they do go anywhere. berger & delaney should stay. the rest i ain't too bothered about.

I would agree with the names mentioned by CT and Cesc so far regarding Arsenal. Flamini will almost certainly leave seeing as he said he wanted to move away a couple of months ago. Obviously we've also let a couple of youngsters leave already as well. Larsson and Stokes went in January, Lupoli and Muamba this summer.

I suppose Reyes would have to be mentioned as well. Even if Real Madrid don't take him, I can't see him playing for us ever again.

A couple of our big name players (Henry, Gallas, Gilberto) have been linked with other clubs but I don't think they will leave this summer, although there is a slight doubt over whether Gallas would stay if a good offer came in from a top European team.

    Baines - Wigan
    Sidwell - Reading
    Yakubu - Boro

i would think these are all likely to end up leaving their clubs this summer too and all would enhance most prem clubs

then players such as SWP, Kieron Richardson may want more 1st team football.

In addition, with Lescott having been such a hit in the prem. clubs may we more willing to try the better playersin the championship, especially from clubs that just miss out on the prem. eg Gareth Bale from Soton, Barnes of Derby

I think re the previous Flamini comment Wenger has hinted as much in the past
