It's all about tastes but I won't rethink my reasons behind watching football just because I liked the way Man U liked to take risks rather then forcing themselves to be unimaginative and sticking to a rigid game plan.
You say it's about results over theater but there is a reason why people got more excited about Man U - Milan then Liverpool - Chelsea and that reason promotes the game and takes it to new audiences.

Cant believe we lost that game, how many times were we played through on goal only to mess things up. As for that Giggs miss...

Rooney was class, although he should have scored at least one of his chances and Vidic played well.

One of the worst finals I have seen, but it was nowhere near as bad as that Pool v Chelsea game, at least the ball was played on the floor, not in the air. I guess Chelsea make it hard for teams to play football.

Unlucky United, I thought you guys, like us were simply knackered, so it was always going to be a scrappy game.

    Lawrenson should never commentate again.

One person I will praise today who I've been very critical of is Frank. He's never gonna be the best on the ball, but I thought his energy and distribution was actually pretty good today.

Drogba was always gonna have it tough today playing up against 2 world class CBs on his own. Big praise to Joe Cole too, who I thought was the only player in the 1st half who looked half decent.

    Chelsea ratings:

    Cech 7 - Very brave.
Ferreira 6.5 - Good going forward. Still suspect defensively.
    Terry 7 - Solid.
Essien 5 - Not a CB. Hope we can buy someone in the summer.
Bridge 7 - Handled Ronaldo well. Didn't offer as much going forward though.
Makelele 6 - Kept it simple, but not the force he was.
    Mikel 6.5 - A beast.
Lampard 6.5 - Gave it everything.
SWP 6 - Needed to put more crosses in. Good outlet ball and got back well.
Joe Cole 6.5 - Only player who looked good in the 1st half. Unlucky to be subbed.

    Subs:

Robben 7 - Looked lively and took players on every time he got the ball. Unlucky to be injured again.

Ashley Cole 5 - Barely touched the ball.

Kalou 5.5 - Good outlet ball. Lively.

Jose Mourinho has now won every domestic trophy (Prem x2, FA Cup, Carling Cup x2 and Community Shield) in just 3 seasons Ale

Next season the Champs League will hopefully be ours ok

They were not better in anyway at all. Explain the decision to bring back a foul when we were 3 on 3, smith makes a good tackle, but he gives a foul trying to be clever, then they score from it.....? and he had a good game why he is the worst ref in the prem how can he get an f.a cup final

We also won it starting 5 English players (Terry, Bridge, Lampard, Wright-Phillips and Joe Cole) and another on the bench (Ashley Cole).

    Congradulations to Chelsea!

Not the greatest of games but for the winning team that doesn't matter, the move for the last goal was fantastic, they could have just held on for penalties but they took the initiative and went for a goal and Drogba has done it again.

I'm just glad this wasn't the European cup final as well

They had people like robben to bring on, we have smith etc who has the worst squad i dont get this kind of thing, neville saha park all out also.

I don't mind to lose on penalties, neither team really deserved to win, although giggs missed some good chances, rooney ruined a couple. But to lose from that refs error i cant accept, i know he is a $h!t ref, always has been. Check when he sent ronaldo off last year he is a moron

Except they scored and you didn't...

Both Joe Cole and Robben had better games than the Player of the Year. Rooney had his moments but was clearly letting his temper get the best of him. You lacked ambition and incisiveness and your best chance came from a Chelsea mistake, and Giggs then tried to claim a goal having kicked Cech over the goal line.

Chelsea had more ambition, energy and pressure and they had as much of the midfield as you did.

They definitely were not the better team, both teams were poor, but we created the better chances abd there was no way that Chelsea were the better team.

Fortunately for us were not just a cup team and if anyone said you would win the league and Chealse would win the domestic double, I would have taken it and I dont think any Chelsea fans would have.

    Shocking game.

One which leaves us with many questions.

Is there anyone, besides the red-top newspapers, that isn't hoping that is the last we will see of Jose Mourinho in the English game?

To think, he was once considered a breath of fresh air, the man clearly hates football, and his horrible tactics, constant moaning, attempted mind-games, disrespect to other managers are as boring as they are predictable.

Why does Alan Smith wear boots which are clearly several sizes too large?

Should we feel for the talented players that Chelsea do have, considering they have to play such a repulsive game?

Or, is it just what they deserve, having willingly become mercenaries in the fight to kill football upon joining the club?

Can their fans honestly say that the clubs victories, gained in this manner, does not leave them with a cold, hollow feeling?

Do you think Mikel is regretting his decision to join Chelsea?

To me, he is clearly the best young midfielder in the PL, and yet is not allowed to play football. When you think of the number of games Fletcher has played for Utd, Mikel would surely have played many times this year had he joined the reds, and he wouldn't be in such a ridiculously restrictive environment, and would have been able to truly show his talent. Imagine him, under the tutelage of the maestro Scholes.
