    Imagine if the roles were reversed and Liverpool were Milan and Milan were Liverpool last night....

    So Liverpool score by a deflected free kick in the 44th minutes, then Milan take off their star player with 20 minutes left to try and get a result and this frees up Gerrard who then plays a ball through to Bellamy who slips it under the keeper and scores.

    All this in a game in which Milan have been playing the better football and having the lions share of chances.

    How much shot would you have given Liverpool after the game for winning it? be honest. I get the feeling there are far too many agendas on here and I honestly think that if Liverpool had won the way Milan did last night we'd never hear the end of it Rolling Eyes

    ah i see imho that werent v clear. i think the majority of comments have been relatively commendable of the liverpool performance to a point, eg they were good but not good enough at creating clear cut chances, and that ultimately was the difference

    I expect it from Utd fans and Chelsea fans but Puro's constant Anti-EPL drivel goes beyond the realms of sanity. The guy has severe issues

    I do get what Tweedle is saying- had Lampard scored that deflected goal the World would be up in arms about the luck involved.

    But I think the reason most people arent making a big issue of it Tweeds is that Milan were pretty unlucky last time round, so cant really begrudge them the fortune they had last night.

    Kudos to Liverpool- I weas amongst many who thought it would be Liverpool doing all the dour defending and Milan all the attacking- despite losing I actually have a lot more respect for Liverpoll as a side than I did beforehand. They played very well, but were up against a side who were, and have been, peerless in defence for some time now. Maldini and Nesta are simply legends of the game in their art and should be applauded

    I've not seen any comments that we're that bad to be honest.

    I think most people realise it was a fairly even game with neither team playing at there best, whilst Milan had that little bit extra in the final third.

    Thanks TS. That's pretty much how I feel. Particularly after all the 'anti-football' bullshit on the board over the last few weeks it was nice to see us play well.

    Does anyone listen to Puro, when he writes about anything British related??!! I think a premiership player stole his girlfriend and his way with his mum or something like that. I cant think of any other reason, why someone can have such deep rooted hatred towards a league.

    I have said Milan were rubbish and pool were the better side. I think Milan got this false reputation as the bastions of beautiful football after 45 minutes of quality football in the rain. They havent been that great in the whole tournament and yesterdays performance suggested that it was a return to the norm and the united tie was an anomoly.

    Otherwise I don't care much for who won it and this is yet another final that I'll quickly forget.

    Maybe I'm an old fart, but finals (CL, WC, FA-cup) used to be better in the old days...

    At 1-0 down Benitez just *had* to bring on a second striker, his gameplan wasn't working from the start but at 1-0 down there's no time to play the waiting game anymore.

    I still think that had Benitez brought on Crouch at half time for Alonso or Riise we would have seen a much better match and Liverpool would actually have had a chance to win the damned thing !

    whereas there's plenty about liverpool losing the final, and same fopr arsenal last year. Threads created by manu and chelsea fans, I think it just shows that liverpool and arsenal fans don't have as many retards amongst their fan base
