Milito and Kuyt would be a good partnership. Milito doesn't get involved in play as much, but Kuyt does, so I think they could complement each other well. And Milito can score from long range, inside the box, with his head, etc. Would be a good signing IMO. Probably cost 15 million pounds.

Ye, Kuyt tends to hang more outside the box so they would work well together IMO, we were linked yesterday to Milito, once La liga ends he will probably talk to Benitez

I'd like to see more than just a goal scorer come into the team, i want a player who will strike fear into the opposition because he can create an opportunity for himself.

We really do need to pick up a couple of wingers and a striker of real quality.

We need to convert the chances which we create so many of, then we might be able to close the gap on Utd and Chelsea.

I've been busy, and enjoying the sun. ok

Not a great deal to talk about at the moment, will be around more when some transfers have taken place, or any really interesting news pops up.

At the moment the only excitement has been for the mancs.

So i'll wait untill we've signed Eto, Villa and Quasimodo.

What is your stiker shortlist now?

Eto'o says his is staying. Tevez could be off to Inter. I did hear that you might go after Torres once La Liga has finished.

News from Spanish papers: Benitez has presented Gillett and Hicks with the following shortlist, but they haven't responded yet, because they first want to carefully analyse the price that would have to be paid for each player.
I don't quite understand this, and if I was Benitez I'd be a bit annoyed - how would these two American guys know anything about player valuations? It seems like they're making this whole thing far too business-oriented.

    Anyway, the list:

    - Simao

    - Diego Milito (very good signing as I've said many times...IMO he should be the striker you sign: not too expensive, good team man, and will combine well with Kuyt)

    - Gabi Milito (would be a good signing but Juve are in pole position to sign him, and it doesn't make sense when you have Carr-Agger)

    - Malouda

    - Tevez (Inter will put up a tough fight, plus they have all the Argentines there to attract him)

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is reportedly lining up a bid for Barcelona youngster Marc Crosas.

The 19-year-old midfielder made his Barca debut earlier this season following an impressive run of performances for the Catalan club's B team.

Crosas could follow former Barca youngsters Cesc Fabregas and Fran Merida, who are both now at Arsenal, in moving to the Premiership.

"After Barca, English football is my passion," Crosas is quoted in the Daily Mirror.

Benitez is believed to be looking to land Crosas initially on loan with the possibility of him making the switch to Anfield permanent at a later date.

Anyone ever get the feeling that we just nick young talent from abroad rather than producing any of our own?, if we spent more time trying to get players who will make a difference now and then time improving the youth systems we would have not only present success but future success

The youth systems in place in Holland and France for example are far superior to that off England though, in Holland and France kids are trained from the age of 6, they are given more freedom and also have ecuation on the side of their training all run in the same place

    Fixture list is 'interesting'.

    First impressions:

Ropey start (Villa away first game and Chelsea at home 3rd game)

Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal all at home before Christmas (exact opposite of last season)

    Good christmas period.

Crunch point at end of March (Man U away, Everton at home, Arsenal away in 3 games), which if we are still in the CL at that point will be very nasty.

After that a good run in until Spuds away on the last day.

Having all you're home games against the other big 3 before Christmas is not a bad thing.

That's what we had last season.

It's good to get the points on the board early.

Not the best starts, Villa and West Ham are two very good teams and Chelsea are Chelsea

But we cant be afraid, if we want to win the league we have to just beat the best and be the best.

    The Christmas run is ok.

    Bring it on..

That wasn't necessarily Pools problem last season though was it?

It was their failure to beat the likes of Fulham, Sheff Utd etc away from home.

If they win those sort of games this season, there's no reason why they can't challenge for and win the title.

    Same applies to Arsenal.

No, not saying it was there problem.

More that we had the same situation last season and it worked to our benifit. Most people said with the 3 away games in the second of the season vs Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea we would drop loads of points and other teams would benifit.

However our lead was fairly big so it became a physcological advantage.

Was just watching our season review.

forgot some of Alonso's goals last season, the half way line one against Newcaslte was class, and he scored a really good strike against Villa I think it was, it seems his poor form came in the second half of the season.

    Also Garcia was sensational!!!!!!!!!!
