    Felix Magath has been appointed coach and sporting director at Wolfsburg.

    Wolfsburg moved for Magath after Klaus Augenthaler left the club earlier this month.

    A great appointment !

    Magath has been out of work since being sacked by Bayer Munich in February.

    Wolfsburg endured a disappointing season this term just avoiding relegation on the last day of the campaign and chairman Hans Dieter Poetsch believes Magath is the right man to turn the club's fortunes around.

    "In Magath we're getting one of the most renowned figures in the German game," Poetsch said.

    Rumour out of Spain is that Alvaro Mejia will be joining Wolfsburg once the season ends.

    What a shame Golfsburg still managed to get a point from their match against Aachen...it would have been a pleasure for Bremen to kick this plastic club into the second division where they belong.

    True story.

    Wolfsburg=Golfsburg=VW

    The only reason why this soulless plastic club exists is VW money. Apart from that they´re $h!t anyway... Wink

    No, I have no problem with the Pillendreher; for many reasons they´re much more a football club than Golfsburg will ever be, despite the Bayer money.

    Btw Allez, do you know if Arsenal is interested in Mavuba as well?

    I'm not the best person to ask about these rumours Chrissi – we tend to get linked with all the best French players but I'm not sure if there's much substance to the rumours at the moment (compared to Juve in this instance)...

    No.

    Wenger won't buy another centre midfielder. We already have Cesc Fabregas, Gilberto Silva, Abou Diaby and Denilson Neves. Signing Rio Mavuba would not be worthwhile as it would put back the development of the two latter players in the list above.

    I read that Bordeaux would listen to offers of around £7 million.

    Thanks Cesc. From what I have read Bordeaux want 8m Euro, but Bremen only offer 5m so far, but even if we would pay 8m I still doubt he would come to Bremen. However, it´s definitely worth a try...

    No problem, Allez. I´ve read Juve prefer Sissoko instead of Mavuba meanwhile...
