Who do you think made the biggest impression in Serie A this season??

From the top of my mind, the team of the season:

Pantanelli is a very good shout for the goalkeeper.

Zuari, good call... noyt sure whether I will pick him over Janku, but yeah, probably above Tonetto this season....

Mexes over Gamberini/Danialli??? Nah!! Not even over Chivu... but you gotta give credit to the viola duo for the best defence in Serie A...

Very hard to do and leave so many players out who have been sensational this season.

I won't attempt a starting 11 cause there are some positions in which i cannot decide between 2-3 players.

Nevertheless, my definite inclusions would have been: Maicon,Materazzi,De Rossi,Gattuso,Totti and Ibra

Stankovic has gotta make it. He's so underrated its ridiculous.

You need to see him play in the flesh to see how much he pulls the strings of the whole team

I love Stank, really wanted to include him, but even I couldn't pick him over Totti or Mutu or Ibra...

But you are right, he is the best of the rest!

Don't know, I tend to give the credit for the Fiorentina defensive record to Prandelli and the whole viola team, they are really well organized and tactically wise. But it can be I'm not fair to Gamberini.
Regarding Mexes vs Chivu, I agree the romanian is better but just got too injured this year.



Regarding Stankovic:
yeah he's immensely talented, he's always been my favorite Inter player, and this season was no doubt his better one at Inter...
But in the end I chose Perrotta over him cause the italian doesn't get too mentioned around, even if he's a class act - he's they real key of the Roma midfield. Also he scored more than Stankovic and was a bit more constant.

Anyway my real problem with Stankovic is that I like him so much that I'm never happy with him and I keep expecting more and more, just like some demanding fathers with their favorite sons =)

Funny you say that... Its the same here, I keep expecting more outta him... still can't help feeling that he hasn't reached anywhere near his true potential!!

Just a thought:

This must be the third consecutive season that Corini has made Serie A team of the season.

And yet, no international call-up, not even for a friendly at minimum.

Disgraceful.

Wonderful man.

Feel for him... a late bloomer, thats always a risk...

I hope he joins a big team, he deserves it!

He was interviewed and said he wouldn't mind a move to Roma.

The problem with that is, how many games would he get ahead of Perrotta, De Rossi, Pizarro and Aquilani?

Torino and Napoli both want him, he could get more regular football there, maybe Fiorentina could take him, but he deserves a top move

With his age, he probably will get more games at a ambitious club like Napoli, rather than a top side.

Or he should join Inter or Milan, resign himself of being a bench player, and hope to win some silverware.
