Now that the THIEVES have taken away our board, let us keep all Serie A match reaction, player / tactic discussions that are not realted to clubs that have a thread in here.

Tonight is a magnificent prospect for football, so many potentially great exciting games!!

    Atalanta - Empoli

    Cagliari - Livorno

    Chievo - Lazio

    Fiorentina - Parma

    Messina - Reggina

    Milan - Ascoli

    Palermo - Catania

    Roma - Inter

    Sampdoria - Udinese

    Torino - Siena

Inter and Roma matches are ALWAYS exciting, they rarely disappoint and always contain a lot of goals! I predict an evening of excting matches and goals tonight <Ale>

The board was barely being used - we consulted and EVERYONE that responded said that this was the way it should be done! Doh

I'm ONLY JOKING! Calm down! I have no problem with the new format, it fosters a better community 'feel' to the boards.

<Ale> There are no problems Tweedle, we are happy to adapt to the new format.

As you say, there is more exposure, everybody now there is more license and incentive to read about other leagues.

I'll probably watch Catania v Messina - should be a great atmosphere for Catania's second Sicilian derby in a few days.

Palermo v Catania looked a cracker as did Messina v Reggina (not Sicily I know) - there's more passion down South !

Check the Palermo thread for my reaction to the Sicilian derby.

    http://europeanboard.ephpbb.com/viewtopic.forum?t=1688&start=40

These games are amongst the most passionate, but because of their 'lower profile' they don't get as much recogntion as a Milan or Rome derby.

The atmosphere on Wednesday night was passionate, sadly though there were fights before and during the match between 'fans'.

    Catania 0-1 Messina HT

Floccari (came on mid way through the half for injured Alvarez) scored a scrappy goal after Catania failed to deal with Iliev's corner - totally against the run of play, Catania have dominated.

    Mascara was booked for Diving.

Gabriele Marcotti is a great co-commentator.

...and just now "Mascarinho" (as the fans call him) equalises with a deft header, takes of his shirt in celebration and gets a 2nd yellow !!!

    Doh Laugh

    A mad 11 mins in 2nd half:

Mascara scores and gets sent of for celebration 1-1

Spinesi hits a deflected free-kick (as he did v Palermo) 2-1

    Cordova hits a great half-volley 2-2

Iuliano gets sent off for 2nd yellow.

    CIAO PIERRE!!

    WOW!!!

That was a SENSATIONAL match. Sicily - the HOME of THRILLING football!!! Yikes Ale

We have had TWO Sicilian derbies in THREE DAYS! They have yielded us a total of TWELVE GOALS!!!! Ale

Stupid for Mascara - He had a great and influential match but what a stupid first booking!!! It was a silly and unconvincing dive!

Catania play the game in great spirit - unlucky to emerge from these two derbies with only one point - tonight they and their fans were incredible. Unlucky to Sottil to hit the post - his runs and movement were never dealt with for the match, (he could have had two goals from unmarked headers), unlucky also for the goalkeeper to make a good save from Mascara's early freekick. Caserta - Yikes playing RONALDINHO for the day!!! ok WHAT CHEEK! And that VOLLEY wasn't bad either!

Floccari's goal was very lucky - unlucky on the Rossazzurri - they didn't deserve to fall behind to a goal like THAT!

For Messina, i want to see MORE of Cordova, he is a great talent, he had a great shot in this match, but i want him to impose himself more on teams!

What a game! Thanks to Sicily for this great entertainment! Ale
