Really interested to see how he does. Certainly the jugones are going to the WC but Cazorla's place is up for grabs. Riera is by no means certain so if Navas and Pablo can really make a claim there is a possibility there will be room for them in 23 going to SA.

Really surprised that Guiza keeps getting called. I like him of course but although I don't follow the Turkish league closely I don't even hear about him at all. Really think Llorente should be ahead of him at this point.

Not sure why three RB's have been picked. Iraola>Arbeloa. Would have picked Monreal in place of Arbeloa.

And Navas finally unleashed on the international stage!

    ------------Casillas
    Ramos--Pique--Puyol--Capdevila
    --------------Senna
    ------Xavi---Cesc---Iniesta
    Silva-------------------------Mata
    --------------Villa

would be my side. Navas for Silva/Mata 2nd half, as well as a few other changes.

Yeah, looks like it's him and not Capel that's their proper LW prospect. I think he got 2 assists in the Villarreal game this weekend too.

such a huge gap in quality if the two starting XI's are confirmed, and he doesn't have to be that way.

    -----------------Romero

    ----Zanetti----Demi---Samuel---Ansaldi

    ------------Masch--Cambiasso

    ------Messi-------Roman-----Di Maria

    -----------------Higuain

and the golf in quality automatically looks a lot less.

How has Gago been picked? He's been injured recently, and isn't playing well when 'fit' either.

    And Coloccini...wtf?

Isn't Aguero playing. I'd have loved to see a trident of Messi-Higuain-Aguero

    ok

coloccini, gago, maxi rodriguez, etc...are all players that have left a very good impression on the argentine collective opinion at some point, and no matter how bad their current form is they'd still pick them...Maradona is just simply behaving like any cab driver in my city who would pick Tevez ahead of Messi.

That said, am happy to see Gago here, he's a great player IMO, and no matter how shit he's been lately or injured, it's good to see him play with his NT...I don't think he'll do bad at all

I was one of the big Gago defenders for a long time but since last season he has been so bad it defies logic. I mean he isn't doing anything right. I think Argentina would better with one of Lucho/Ledesma/Banega in midfield to distribute play.

Also a Messi-Higuain-Aguero without having any great full backs is not the best ideas. Di Maria at least will bring some width to the team.

Gago may not be playing well, but I still think he is talented too. He's still very young for a CM/DM. He needs to grow some balls, expand his range of passing, but I think he will get better. Not sure it'll be at Madrid though.

Going forward the team is pretty good.

The defence is really shit though. Any chance that will change though? Would Maradona call Milito if/when he is fit?

    Nobody is watching it? scratch

1-0 for Spain after Xabi Alonso showed good instinct and arrived in the box, where he had a chance to score after Romero saved Silva's shot and Argentina central defenders decided (and DMs - Mascherano, hello!!!) to not be really interested in clearing out the ball.

Poor defending I agree. But this spain wouldn't be half as good if people were allowed to tackle them.
