Aye we have a Saha thankfully. Confidence worries and injuries is the only way we have such a talented striker happy to be 3rd choice.

Anas Al-Liby wrote:Any of you guys a bit jealous about Chelsea signing Anelka? ..

No, But i still didn't want Chelsea to get him. But not overly bothered as long as they didn't get Berbatov.
I am talking about qualities of Saha not application this season , he's gone downhill and its no secret that one area where Fergie looks for a team to be strong is strikers , imo we will get a striker as soon as Fergie thinks someone is good enough to take a chance on or we need one or somebody really pops up and is a definite to buy as Fergie love 4 strikers , being 3rd choice isnt a big as usually 2 strikers are played so the first opportunity goes to the 3rd choice that is over 20 games in a season to the least.

    if we play

    Ronaldo---------AMC----------LW/LF

    ------------------CF-----------------

Rooney and Tevez could easily be accomadated with a striker , I know you will point out Nani and Anderson but there will be enough permutations to give all enough opportunities.

Continuing on Saha so we sweat that Rooney shouldnt get injured as Saha isnt reliable and can get injured out of nothing that really takes a psychological edge out of players and supporters , we cant trust him one way or another which is the problem , players need confidence and trust.

Manchester United's Louis Saha will be out of action for three weeks after suffering yet another knee injury

French international Louis Saha faces yet another spell on the sidelines after he injured his knee once again.

The United striker pulled up in training on Friday with the problem, which was initially thought to be much worse than has proved the case.

Club doctors are hopeful that it is just a twist, meaning three weeks out of action but no operation.

Nevertheless, this is just the latest in a long line of injury setbacks for the Frenchman, who signed from Fulham in 2004 for £13m.

Saha has made 110 appearances for the club since then, netting 41 times, but Sir Alex Ferguson is said to be losing faith in the player's ability to stay fit.

This latest news will likely prompt United to step up their pursuit of Ajax target man Klaas Jan Huntelaar.

At the moment Saha being out for 3 weeks is just s rumour but if it is strue then Doh

Saha injured again? I'm shocked. To think you paid 12.5 million for him 3 years ago and he's only scored 41 goals in that time...

If its just 3 weeks then fine, however as we saw with the last injury (or injuries) it takes him a few games to feel comfortable again and another few to find form.

From what I've seen, he still hasn't recovered his form from the injury that put him out for several months. A couple of sparkling games aside, what has he done of note this year? Rooney has had two injuries already this season yet has scored a reasonable number of goals and influenced key matches.

Seriously, you should be flogging the guy to whoever is stupid enough to buy him. 110 games in three years is very poor, and 41 goals even worse. That's an average of about a goal a month - would you accept that from any other striker in your squad?

Any striker that stop start wouldn't score many because a lot of those games would be about accumulating match fitness.

That being said I'm done with Saha, I was willing to tolerate the injuries because he always significantly improved our play. This season he's been detrimental to it and we have mighty Manucho(how's that for hype)!

Not that I think you'll fail to beat a managerless team who are massively out of form, particularly given what's at stake, but if your lot don't win today I'll be pissed off with them for the rest of the season...

How can you be so sure?

Seriously, he's starting to become a major drain on your team, just like Van Nistelrooy did. Being unfit and out of form, you have to play him in the hope of him getting back to where he was for 4 months last season. But almost every time you play him, he's poor and offer little threat. He doesn't even have Van Nistelrooy's useful habit of tapping in a goal every other game.

I am patient, its not his performance that bothers me it's the frustration because I'd like to see a performance with both being close to the top of their game.

I always expected Anderson to go off a bit for a combination of exhaustion and youth.

    Man Utd 6-0 Newcastle

The view of some Liverpool fans from redandwhitekop.com

Tom_B "What a goal that is by the Mancs. Fucks sake it is horrible when they do stuff like that.

That touch by Ronaldo was unbelievable."

bradigor "They really are a sight to behold at times"

Seesay "You get the feeling the Man Utd players know they're going to score, it's just a matter of when. A lot of our players look forward and think "shit, how are we going to score? will we ever score?"... nevermind when."

NornIron!! "that is how to attack!"

Congrats for today game, that is breathtaking football, just unbelievable, you know that if Barcelona had a game like that, the worldly media would be wanking over for years to come, talking about how they are best thing ever, ugh. I am even getting warm to the idea of you winning the CL, that would be fair.

I don’t think I ever felt so bad for a team like a felt for Newcastle, the fans don’t deserve that and Owen, Jesus, I watched as a teen his game against Argentina in 98 and to see him in such poor shape and to have such bad performance was really painful and sad hope he gets a better season in the future.

And then there is Ronaldo, ugh, he is so good, SO GOOD, I almost turned the tele off, he is fast, cold and he is pure talent. I still can’t stand but can see why United fans piss their pants over him. If you win the treble I am off football for a year. pale

Man Utd in advanced Gilberto talks

Manchester United are locked in talks for Hertha Berlin left-back Gilberto.

Bild am Sonntag says Gilberto's agent, Alexandre Martin, is in talks with United over a contract through to 2010.

"I don't want to say too much about it. I have a number of offers, and perhaps I'll stay in Berlin. Or perhaps I'll go to England or Portugal or even back to Brazil. I am not worried," Gilberto, 31, said.
    _____________________________________________________________

He has never looked like a bad player when i have seen him play for Brazil. But can you see us signing a 31 year left back even though he would be back-up for Evra?
