Post by Fey Tue Jan 02, 2007 11:43 pm

Let's face it, no team comes close to them. From the start of this season all eyes were on Chelsea and Liverpool Laugh

Where Manchester lost their most beloving goalscorer since a long time, and got replaced by a injury prone striker, nobody would give a dime for them to be a serious candidate for the title. Add the upset that was caused by Ronaldo, with his winking....This could not work!!!!!

Hargreaves, Beckham etc even George Best was named as reinforcements....but what did they got!!! An overpriced average midfielder from Spurs named Carrick. Supporters of the best team in the EPL, were claiming the head of that ginger jew, for this.

Now, 6 months later, the uproar in Manchester is gone. And made place for euphoria. Ofcourse they were a title candidate, with Scholes back in action, Ronaldo starting to grow into a worldclass player, Carrick showing the world that he is a decent player on the midfield and adds much to the balance.

During these 6 months everybody saw that this team is growing to great heights again, where Chelsea literally grind results. This team blow their opponents away with some excellent football.

Deep in the harts of the Chelsea fans, the Liverpool supporters and even the face of Mourinho there are signs of resignation.

They have accepted the fact that this is the year of Manchester United....The Champs Ale Ale ok

And let's face it, it's the lesser evil that wins, so it's a victroy for the football as well Ale

Its a good point about Carrick and the balance he brings.

Look in the change he made on Monday, it was one way traffic after he came on and I don't even think Fletcher did that badly.

    @ lrd

    Why 'up yours cesc'?

Regarding the league run-in, Man Utd still have some very difficult games to come, its far from over and IMO it will end very tight and I don't have a clue who will win it.

I think United will win the title but they have some exceptionally tough games coming up with playing Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea all away from home. They only picked up 4 points against these 3 teams at home, so it'll be interesting.

There's still around 16-17 games to go too.

You have Liverpool and Arsenal away from home as well.

The only advantage you have is the head to head at home.

If you get 6 points (or more) I think the title will be yours (because you're not losing to the Blackburn's or the Fulham's like you were last year)

For once, I don't agree with Jose.

Before the boxing day games, the gap was only 2 points. Now it's 6 and a much better goal difference. Imo, that's a big gap to open up over 3 games.
