No, he is basically banned from German TV, banned from Germany in general (no Bundesliga club will offer him a job), for good reason...

Unbelievable, he’s won the most caps for Germany, always gave 100%, perfect role model, sure he may have crazy ideas but he doesn’t deserve this kind of treatment. He is now going to coach in Israel of all places from what I’ve heard, shambles utter shambles.

Matthäus the player is an all time great, and "Ehrenspielführer" of the DFB, the German FA. Only 4 Ehrenspielführer so far: Franz Beckenbauer, Fritz Walter, Uwe Seeler and Lothar Matthäus.

Matthäus the manager and pundit is a joke, an annoying twat, and a persona non grata in Germany.

I admit, I don't know any other country in which a legend like him is treated this way. Only in Germany...

For all he has done for us, he deserves a fair treatment.
Why not giving him a chance at a 2. Bundesliga club.

He can also train one of our German youth national teams.
Lothar surely isn´t worse than Eilts, Hrubesch or Stefan Böger.

It’s shameful to be honest, are you for real when you say he is shunned by the German media and don’t ask him to be a ‘pundit’. I don’t know the full picture if this is the case, but from what I’ve seen of him, he does have a good brain (his praise of Van Basten was 1st class something like this: “great player and will become a great manager at Ajax now he has left Holland”)

Lothar is an idiot, and his BILD connections are one of the reasons why no Bundesliga club wants to give him a job.

I won't say that he is completely useless as a coach / manager, but he has a long way to go still, and should have started in the lower leagues and gained some experience there first, before moving abroad and more or less ruining his reputation.

If he stops writing for BILD, a 2. Bundesliga club might be willing to offer him a job. But I'm not sure if Lothar would actually want that, he seems to aim much higher.

I´m sure Lothar must hate Klinsmann. He got all, what Lothar wanted without doing much.
The DFB could have asked Matthäus to take over the national after the horrible Euros of 2000 and 2004.
Yet,they took Völler and Klinsmann, who were national heroes or at least have a clean image. Neither of them deserved it more than Matthäus at that time.
His bad image clearly ruined him a better career.

Turkey will be looking at having only 4 subs for the game, must have been brought up already but nothing is going for them, and saying that 5 key 1st team players are out suspended or injured. They shouldn’t be able to win.

    Germany is going football crazy

more than 30 million people will watch the game on TV

in addition to that millions will watch it in pub, beer gardens, fan miles and in stadia

500.000 people will watch it on the Berlin Fan Mile

about 50.000 in the Cologne stadium

30.000 in the Munich Olympic STadium (where I will be as well)

let's hope the PRINZ, the ONE and the MONSTER get onto the score sheet

30 million households, not people. This match should break the record viewing rate of 29.66 million households on average (31.31 million peak, 91.2% market share), which was set during the Germany - Italy semi-final in 2006.

    Germany to win 5-0.

This should be a stroll in the park for the worlds No. 1 team, anything less than that and i will be extremely dissapointed. ok

While the reason for you to say that is obvious, I don't expect a walk in the park at all, expect a tough fight against a team that has proven repeatedly that they never give up, and who will be extra fired up against Germany for obvious reasons. This is a Euro semi-final, not a friendly.

Like I said, complacency is my greatest fear in this match.

Turkeys only hope is for the German players to be complacent, but I don’t think Ballack will allow this. Also Germany have come into their stride now, the team looks well balanced and Ballack is being the Ballack who we all love and admire. This is a game too far for the Turks.

Otto me son its the afternoon, im pretty sure they'll be on in the evening.

Russia game should be exciting, both teams will be looking to attack, so it wont be a borefest like Italy vs Spain.
