Still, a great result for a young and promising Italian team. Italy is on track, they are modernising their style. They'll be quite a different team in the coming years.

when xavi goes, spain will have to radically change how they play

Yep, definitely. Xavi adds 20% of possession on his own, probably no exaggeration even. The enormous precision of his passing, his awareness and vision make him unique. An all time great, the benchmark of a modern midfielder, who he actually defined himself.

The kid probably just needs the right environment to develop his talent.

Harry "imbecile" Redknapp first saw Juan "El Loco" Vargas while he was manager of Portsmouth and wasn't convinced by the Inca Warrior. lol! THANK GOD he didn't play for that racist c**t!

Then he didn't know what the fuck to do with Gio either. lol!

He recently saw the kid wonder Pier Larrauri train with Tottenham, and he doesn't know what to do with the talented kid. Of course good Sven Eriksson heard the news that Pier was trying out at Tottenham and that Redknapp showed Pier the door. And what did Sven do? the Swede immediately took the young Inca Warrior to his Leicester team and signed him for THREE years. Sven KNOWS real talent and KNOWS what to do with REAL talent.

Harry's one thick xenophobe and racist son of a bitch just like Fat Sam and Steve Bruce. He doesn't deceive me by playing some foreigners (HE HAS TO IF HE WANTS TO WIN!) he's one racist c**t! TFS!

    Barcelona 2-2 Chile.

Arbeloa played like an utter c**t, barging into and fouling people for no reason. Wonder where he learned that from Rolling Eyes

Edit: and he goes on to win a penalty in injury time with an utterly pathetic dive. Fabregas converts on the rebound (keeper saved the initial shot) to win it for Spain.

Edit 2: and continued his roll of honour by swiping a Chile player at the neck, causing a mass brawl that the subs of both teams felt the need to attend. Ref just blew the final whistle after that.

I used to think Arbeloa was one of the nice, down to earth, humble guys. Guess not anymore.

Busquets? Hope you loved his cowardly snipe from behind in that so-called brawl. At least Arbeola was standing up for his teammate (Iniesta). Vidal & other chile defenders were looking for a leg break.

Surprised nobody mentioned Brasil v Ghana. Went to it. Great atmosphere and more spectators than tickets. Match was shaping up nicely until Daniel Apare got second yellow for persistent fouling. "That's five," Mike Dean said when sending him off. Bit unlucky as wsa stumbling from foul when he caught Lucio. Leandro Damiao got only goal of match. Ronaldinho was back and got rapturous reception at end. Pity about sending off though as it ended the match as an eual contest, even though Mike Dean warned both Apare and Pantsil that one more foul would have that effect. Perhaps a discreet word in Goran Stepanovic's ear to sub him would have been better. It was a friendly though.

The sending off was a bit much. Deserved a warning even if he had been booked earlier I felt.

Disappointed that Ganso went off injured yet again!

Damiao took his goal well as did the Ghana keeper to deny Ronaldinho a couple of times and Pato towards the end of the match.

Emmanuel Frimpong opts to play for Ghana ahead of England
    • 'He wants to play for Ghana' – GFA president
    • Arsenal midfielder had previously played for England youth

Emmanuel Frimpong, the Arsenal midfielder, has chosen Ghana over England after meeting Kwesi Nyantakyi, the Ghana Football Association president, at a London hotel following the Black Stars' 1-0 friendly defeat to Brazil at Craven Cottage on Monday night.

On Tuesday Frimpong tweeted: "I have Done My Part For the Love of The country Now Lets Wait and See The Outcome……"

Nyantakyi, who has held his position for less than a week, told the Guardian: "Yesterday we met him after the game at Fulham at a hotel. He wants to play for Ghana. We have to apply to Fifa now – send them the documentation and wait. It is out of my hands how long they will take, but with my experience [of these matters] I expect no longer than three months and it will probably be shorter than that."

Frimpong's decision will disappoint the senior England management and the Football Association. The 19-year-old, who was born in Accra and has impressed so far this season for Arsenal, played for the England Under-16 and Under-17 sides, before he pulled out of the England Under-21 squad named last week by Stuart Pearce for the Euro 2013 qualifier against Azerbaijan and the friendly against Israel.

Earlier this year Frimpong said: "If Ghana call me, I will ride my own bicycle from England to Ghana."

Great news for Ghana although I can understand why England might feel betrayed a bit considering that he did choose to play for their youth teams and then decides to opt out just as he starting to become a mature player. Only seen him a couple of times but he has looked quite promising.
