Premier League most red Cards

1 Duncan Ferguson 8 red cards, 269 PL games, Avg every 34 games

1= Patrick Vieira 8 red cards, 279 PL games, Avg every 35 games

3 Vinnie Jones 7 red cards, 184 PL games, Avg every 26 games

3= Roy Keane 7 red cards, 379 PL games, Avg every 54 games

3= Alan Smith 7 red cards, 264 PL games, Avg every 38 games

6 Eric Cantona 6 red cards, 143 PL games, Avg every 24 games

6= Andrew Cole 6 red cards, 426 PL games, Avg every 71 games

6= John Hartson 6 red cards, 155 PL games, Avg every 26 games


Any surprises for you?

Was surprised myself that Cantona's avg was lower than Vinnie Jones'.

Nothing surprising as such, as most of those are well known as either dirty players or in the case of Hartson, get a lot of yellows/reds for elbows even when they may not have meant it.


One thing I did notice...something to chew on for the Liverpool fans: 4 of the 8 players in that list are ex-Man. United

That list seems a bit out of date. I remember when Dunne got sent off recently they said he had equalled Vieira and Fergusons 'record'.

He's more slow and clumsy than the others though, not really an overly dirty player.

Julian Dicks never played many Premier league games. I think half of his red cards would of come in different divisions as well.

Andy Cole's avg is alot higher than the others so it probably didn't seem that many. 71 games is pretty much 1 every 2 Premier league seasons.

I expected players like robbie savage, ben thatcher (I think that's the thug's name) and so on to be there, but still where are the defenders who have to make last-ditched tackels and get sent off as the last man as I thought there would be a few of them such as John Terry

Didnt Savage only get 1 or 2 reds in his whole career? He wasnt rough really, he was just a little wanker who made about 100 fouls a game. Probably the odd one or two nasty tackle like most players.

Cantona and Keane were both lunatics, and Smith is talentless, so I don't see there's any particularly anti-Man U slant to these stats. Unless you want to see such a slant.

However, the absence of Abou Diaby makes me think it's all just made up. He's one of the filthiest little shitbags I've ever seen kick a ball.

Alan Smith only got 1 red card with us anyway. In the Manchester derby in his first season.

Nicky Butt also has 6 red cards.

Fair enough, 1 for Brum in there though so just the 4 for us in 288 games. So around 1 every 70 games as well.

He once got sent off for us in a european game. He came off the bench and within a minute had tried to strangle someone. He's a grade A twat and i wish he would fuck off back to gingerville.

How was he a dick FFS? He was actually a hard bastard who never bottled a tackle. Someone who actually played with passion.

Ronaldo must be on 3 or 4 which is quite ridiculous given the kind of player he is. If he stays in the prem a few more years he'll be up there with Ferguson, Jones and Keane
