De Jong and Tevez were class today. Great result today and im over the moon, good results as Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool all drop points ! Great weekend !
Who are you missing from the attack ?
Your bench was excellent today.
Wonderful result though. It is never easy to beat Chelsea, even if you did it in such an ugly manner. Defensively you were brilliant.
Balotelli and Ade and RSC have been injured. Boateng and Kolarov will add to it as they will be very attacking full backs which will help the link up play.
Cheers
RSC hasn't been seen since he signed for you
Ade has been whinging because he hasn't been picked this season
Boateng is a centre back according to Ze Jarmans. He won't add a thing in attack
Kolarov might but is hardly going to change your style.
Balotelli might make a difference but I doubt Mancini will be changing the formation, especially if you continue to grind out wins like today.
Anyway just ignore us, you beat Chelsea so who gives a fuck how you played

Ade isnt fully fit ! i didnt say our midfield was depleated but only had twos fully fit strikers most of the season...and one of them is Jo.
I would feel sorry for you Goater, but then I look at our situation ie: a 20 year old kid as our only fully fit striker with Torres struggling for match fitness and then think, no!

Oh noes! Only one £20m player for every position
Hart £1m
Boyata Free
Zaba £5m
Kompany £5m
Toure £14m
So our back 5 today only cost an average of £5m per player !
And that's why you needed three £20m players in front of them to guard them the entire match..

Re: Premier League week 6
Adebayor hasn't been starting when fully fit anyway.
We had no Lampard, Benayoun or Kalou. Ok the latter 2 would probably have started on the bench, but it would have meant not relying on 17-18 year olds and the likes of Sturridge, who looks like he couldn't hit a barn door most of the time.
Your bench included Boateng, Adam Johnson, Lescott, Adebayor and Jo.
Anyway, congrats. The woodwork can be very cruel sometimes. Swap the fortunes of Ivanovic and Tevez and the 3 points would have been ours

None are bad signings per se, but his best signing was also his cheapest. Johnson is better than Milner, but cost something like 1/4 of the price. More Johnsons, less Vieiras and you'd have a team that was not only better to watch, but a lot harder to take the piss out of.

Goater
Congrats to you.
I was very critical of Mancini and the defence but I think he has chosen the right way so far because that defence needs that protection. So that might be cost something in terms of entertainment but so be it. Still think it was a big mistake to rely on Toure/Kompany/Lescott but given that is what he has the defensive approach makes sense. Think Tevez-Adebayor-Johnson/Silva should be the attack but it might take time to find the right mix.

shazlx wrote:And entirely down to Wenger. Playing Diaby, Eboue and Arshavin (the tree players most likely to give the bal away) against a good counter attacking team who can pass well...Then of course Almunia... And there was no need to take off Koscienly. Diaby and Eboue starting together dwell on the ball too much as it is, which is made worse by Nasri also slowing down moves.Rosicky wrote:A new low.
With Denilson, Ramsey and Wilshire, hopefully that's the end of Diaby at Arsenal.
I do wonder will Wenger do anything about Almunia or will the ineptitude of the rest of the team save him, again. I'm fairly confident even after playing so poorly, we would have won the game if we had a decent GK.
Quick alcohol influenced post:
I agree. We play our best football at a high direct tempo. Van Persie and Fabregas are awesome at this. Rosicky and Wilshere and Song do well, and Walcott is, well, direct. Nasri's alright but will turn into alleys, but make sup for it due to tenacity and steel, as well as good individual moments fairly regularly. Diaby, Eboue and Arshaving just cant do that. A couple of them playing is fine, but with no Fabregas, out attack breaks down.
Also, a lack of continuity, brought on by injuries, mean that the midfield ceases to function and the defence is left wide open. That previous line is also true about the defence. A new partnership is unlikely to withstand much pressure, especially when the person behind them has as much command over the situation as a shit supply teacher.
On a brighter note, how fucking good is Kompany? Can be added to the list of players that have kept the Drog tight. Brilliant on the ground, both in the tackle and distribution. Fast and organises the defeat well. After all the money spent on Lescott, a player 1/5 of the price is twice as good. Respect.

Paul Robinson against Nani should be interesting. If Nani doesn't get at least 2 goals/assists he is the biggest failure ever*
*I suppose I'll let him off if Robinson breaks his legs.

Gerrard on Danny Welblack...
yellow for dangerous play or red for violent conduct ?
I agree with Bruce (for once) - Cattermole would have walked for that.
