    Heskey won the match midweek. Plus Gabby's carrying a knock and Carew's injured.

    Good first half. Heskey's playing the Heskey role very well. Midfield looks stronger with Coker alongside Petrov. Albrighton doing well enough that the LB had to get himself subbed rather than take any more. And Downing is becoming prolific Shocked

    Wolves have had their chances too though, and Doyle-Fletcher looks a good partnership up front. More goals in this methinks.

    None are bad signings per se, but his best signing was also his cheapest. Johnson is better than Milner, but cost something like 1/4 of the price. More Johnsons, less Vieiras and you'd have a team that was not only better to watch, but a lot harder to take the piss out of.

    Yeah but there arnt many 22 year old england internationals around at £7m it was a very good signing, the only other exceptionally good £7m signing is Bebe but U*d pounced.

    Congrats to you.

    I was very critical of Mancini and the defence but I think he has chosen the right way so far because that defence needs that protection. So that might be cost something in terms of entertainment but so be it. Still think it was a big mistake to rely on Toure/Kompany/Lescott but given that is what he has the defensive approach makes sense. Think Tevez-Adebayor-Johnson/Silva should be the attack but it might take time to find the right mix.

    <Ale> cheers yeah i think we will be more attacking once we have Ade fully fit and against lesser teams.

    Very Happy

    No doubt other sides waste big money too, but most of your best players now were already there when Mancini arrived. He's got a long way to go to really impress me. There's only so often Tevez will save your asses.

    For Mancio City read his Inter team;

    defend, defend & defend and pray that your star forward can pull a rabbit out of the hat.

    cheers

    Played shit for much of 2nd half, but nice to get in a sucker punch for once - they usually go against us.

    Kudos to Heskey, had a good game and then won it from a half-chance.

    Was frustrating after the break. It was obvious Wolves would be pushing forward at 1-0 down at home & we just failed to slow the pace down - whenever we got it, just tried to play stupidly ambitious counter-attacks with only one player forward, meaning they kept coming back until the goal.

    Positive signs - Houllier actually subbing Petrov when he faded in the latter stages Shocked, Cuellar-Collins were very good, Coker had a good game too.
    Bad - Warnock had a poor game. The aforementioned failure to just keep the ball when they were ramping up the pressure.

    Great to get a win anyway. Got a tough run of fixtures now, so good to get points on the board. We should be confident going to Spurs, with them having had a European game beforehand and not looking too good in the league so far.
