Expect a difficult match at Upton Park - hopefully Mertsacker will be back to restore defensive organisation and to deal with Carroll. Midfield's a problem as Coquelin looked to have picked up a knock in the Olympiakos match. Would like to see Giroud start, but I expect Gervinho will get the nod. We'd got the measure of Allardyces' teams in the last few seasons but would take a draw here.

When have we ever played a 4-3-1-2?! It will be a 4-2-3-1 as per usual. I hope Giroud comes in for Ox and Mert for Verm, most probably be Kos though.

    Mannone
    Jenks Mert Kos/Verm Gibbs
    Coquelin Arteta
    Gervais Giroud Poldi

Chelsea homegames against such opponents are basically unwatchable. Everton got owned by the looks of it.

    Redknapp to the rescue!

As one poster somewhere said: "I'm sure the QPR fans will treat Redknapp with a lot more respect than our disgraceful fans did."

I laughed when another poster said: "If he has them 13 points clear of relegation but they end up going down I don't think they will."

    1-0

West Ham score with their first attack. Shit defending from Ramsey. We had started well, but we're getting into all the bad habits of previous seasons again.
    ------

Diame should have been shown a second yellow card, but the ref shows leniency. Lucky for West Ham.

Maybe, but they know not to do so, and it's even more stupid to then get booked for it. I don't buy this nonsense about players being so overcome with euphoria that it's an instinctive reaction. Players in other sports, people in everyday life, are able to celebrate joyous moments without a compulsion to tear their top off.
    ------

West Ham should retake the lead shortly before half-time. An unnecessary foul from Gervinho (booked for a foul similar in severity to Diame's let-off) and Arsenal defended the free-kick in their typical fashion, with Nolan slicing a shot just wide.

In what other sport would you get a punishment for celebrating? Be it taking your top off or not. As long as they don't celebrate directly in front of the opposition fans in a deliberate attempt to provoke it should be no problem.

I agree, it's always been a strange one. To be honest if they're wanting to punish it, it should be a post match fine. When you think of some fouls that don't get bookings it's very silly.

Vaz Te has dislocated his shoulder, bit of karma maybe as it looked like he left his foot in on Mannone.

How is that not a penalty? Or at least a foul on the edge of the box...

In most other sports they are able to show a degree of restraint. Maybe it's an unnecessary punishment, but equally I don't think it's asking too much for people to be able to celebrate full clothed if those are the rules.
