Great signing, hope SAF plays him in his best position in the hole behind Rooney.

Now need to strengthen our CM and bring in another striker but maybe 3 strikers will be enough if we play 1 upfront.

I thought Rooney's best position was in the hole behind welbeck?

The hole behind rooney in that case is the CM. I am pretty sure that Ferguson has strengthened the CM position by resigning scholes and not letting carrick play for England. With rooney, berbs, chichacheeto and elbeck do you not already have 4 strikers?

BTW what's happening with berbs, he was always an overrated moaner and with starting only 14 games last season I thought he'd be moaning this summer.

Rooney can play a number of roles, at the moment he is our best striker so i would play him at top instead of in the hole with Welbeck or Hernandez upfront.

Dunno whats happening with Berbatov, think SAF is happy to sell him but only for a decent fee. Hes a good player but our style of play as not got the best out of him, he played better when he was at Spurs.

    Kagawa today

"Language is very important to me," he said. "I'm very motivated to learn English; I hope I can learn it quickly so I can communicate with my team mates very soon."

If I remember correctly, he made absolutely no attempt to learn German and was criticised for it. Whistle

It's bizarrely unrepresentative of real life. Where are all the United fans? Where are all the barely literate mouth breathers? Where are all the queers?

We've only got the Worms Franchise representing the underbelly of modern Britain, but where are the rest of the outcast reprobates?

I'm watching Sky Sports News right now and this mamacita named Kirsty Gallacher (sp?) -who looks exactly like one of my mamacitas I conquered in college (Kimberly Walsh)- just said the club of the devil are playing today in South Africa.

I checked my TV and it's true. España are also playing Greece in the U-something final as well, so schedule conflict there.

Anyway, the Sky Sports News mamacita is gorgeous, but unlike my mamacita Kimberly, I can tell she has no ass. Biggrin <Ale>

From Fergle's latest quotes, it seems like Carrick will be playing a key role next season.

I'm guessing Fergie wants to play with more posession and flair, hence the signing of Kagawa and rumour of Lucas to Utd.If so, this points to a lone striker approach, which begs the question as to why they're going after RVP. They already have enough striekrs, even if they do lose Berbatov. You only really need 3 strikers if you're going for that approach.

    Still, I can't see United going for a 4231, it's just not a Fergle formation - 442 and 451 are his favourites.

I was going to wander in here to ask the question: how will Man Utd line up with the addition of van Persie? Does Batman's team work? Does it suit Rooney at this point, given the stage he's at in his career and the sort of player he has become, to drop behind a forward; and will Kagawa be effective coming from the left? On paper I think it does look good - I'm hesitant regarding Rooney, but the idea of Cleverley linking with Kagawa, with Evra at least capable of overlapping even if his game has deteriorated over the last few seasons, sounds promising and it looks like a technically competent, passing side. On the other hand, if Rooney can't drop deeper, if Kagawa doesn't work on the left, if Nani has an inconsistent season, then Man Utd will have a host of forwards who can't all play and will be light on the wings. I think Welbeck will be unfortunate to drop down the pecking order; and does the above eleven, without him, have an abundance of pace in the attack?

It'll be a 442. Ferguson likes 442. 2 from Nani/Kagawa/Valencia/Young on the wings, 2 from Carrick/Cleverley/Scholes/Giggs/Anderson/Fletcher in the middle and 2 from Rooney/Van Persie/Welbeck/Hernandez up front. Pretty simple.

Surely need to bring in a couple of full-backs. Rafael ain't trustworthy enough to be 1st choice all season, and Evra has zero cover now Fabio on loan. Jones/Smalling ain't really full backs.

    They're after Leighton Baines.

Smalling, Jones, Evans are also pretty versatile.

Striker options are crazy. RVP, Rooney, Berbatov, Hernandez, Welbeck, Manucho, Bebe, Macheda

They also signed Nick Powell who is proper Bo I tell thee.

This is the season of 3 at the back anyway.

    ---------------De Gea

    Rafael-----Rio------Vida------Evra

    Valencia--Carrick--Cleverley--Nani

    ------------------Kagawa

    ------------------Rooney

I've seen Kagawa on the flank and he's not effective like when he plays the hole behind CF. At the first, I thought the Van Persie saga just a way of SAF to motivate his strikers like the Salas saga in the middle nineties
