That is certainly part of it. It is true that SAF has used the respect he has garnered by winning to bully others around but it is laughable to compare this to what happened in Italy where Moggi was requesting refs and locking them in rooms after a "poor" performance towards his team. Ultimately though he is simply a winner imo and it is role of the FA, refs among others to resist.

We are insanely plain with Rooney and RVP. Kagawa has been one massive let down as well. Being good in the Bundesliga doesnt mean much if you look at Sahin and Kagawa.

You're not Premier League standard. Losing 8-0 is a fucking disgrace, I don't care what you say. It's not only you though, teams like Wigan have been lucky to survive season after season.

Not bad talent wise but it's the risk of playing such a young team, when the heads go down, there's nobody experienced to stop them spiralling.

What talent? Bar Weimann and Benteke (based only on several games) the rest is all Youngsters/ Championship players.

A reset could turn out well, Lambert's own men will get time to develop at a level they can handle, and Villa can look to rebuild with players of more modest wages.
Villa will go up again, there's money in Villa, just not enough to handle the ambition level tried earlier.
There's a long list of wastepipes at Villa:
Given, Dunne, Petrov (obviously not his fault, but still it's wasted money), N'Zogbia, Ireland, Agbonlahor, Bent
Insanely well paid players not carrying their weight - Villa could pay a whole Premier League upper mid table first eleven with the money those "stars" are on.

Gabby, Ireland, N'Zogbia, Bent, Bannan, Albrighton, Clark, Lichaj... it's good group, but there's zero natural leaders, what with Dunne & Vlaar (1st choice CB partnership I assume) injured and Petrov's long-term health worries.

With those 3 they'd comfortably in mid-table.

I know losing 8-0 is a fucking disgrace and current performances are well below standard. But a league lasts more than 3 matches. If we get enough points to survive we are Premier League standard. That standard might have dropped from years gone by, but that is irrelevant.

Your comment about needing to go down to rebuild remains moronic, as you don't seem to be able to grasp the fact that this is a completely rebuilt team.

Guzan (sub keeper for last few years)
Bennett (new signing from Boro)
Lowton (new signing from Sheff Wed)
Clark (youth player, only just become regular)
Herd (youth player, only just become regular)
Bannan (youth player, only just become regular)
El Ahmadi (new signing from Fey)
Albrighton (youth player, been in & out for past few seasons)
Weimann (youth player, only just become regular)
Bowery (new signing from Chesterfield)
Benteke (new signing from Genk)

So what we clearly lack is top level experience and we sure as shit ain't going to get that by playing in the league below.

Villa's goal difference is spectacular.

It's primarily a confidence problem at the minute. But there is potential amongst the young players and financially, it's already well on the way to being sorted. Last remnants of MON's crazy contracts are running out at the end of the season. Wagebill has been reduced hugely over last 18 months or so.

Survival is crucial though, particularly because of the way TV money is going up - the gulf is just going to get bigger & teams who drop out now will be set back massively vs those who stay up. If these players are going to be good enough for top flight they need to learn to do it in top flight.

Christ, we were/are shite. West Brom totally dominated us in the 2nd half. Fergie had no other choice to unleash the Persie for the final minutes. Obviously he sealed the game instantly.

Result of the day got to be Southampton beating the shithouses in their own backyard.
