    Two questions for spanish fans;

    1. Do they teach defending in spain?

    2. Do they train refs?

Obispo: Fair enough mate, I've read your Gerrard comments and I know you're not exaggerating or making things up.

If it's the commentary that annoys you so much, just mute it. I have the same thing here with American commentators - like on Sky, constantly hype up everything we do. The only difference is the guys here have no idea about football so they just spout a bunch of cliched crap. And i'm not lying, many a time I've just pressed Mute on my remote control.

As for decisions, I think the majority of decisions went against us today. The red card, some of the fouls, and not to forget the potential penalty on Saviola towards the end...everyone seems to have conveniently ignored that.[/i]

    1. Yeah sometimes, but the academies here specialise more in excellent midfielders so that managers of English clubs can boost their reputations.

    2. The refs are absolutely terrible here. La Liga fans have to deal with these absolutely inexplicable decisions week in week out. When the fans try to protest, the refs complain they are not getting enough support and threaten to strike on weekends of big games (like El Clasico last year). It seems to have gotten worse and worse these past 2 seasons.

well, you must remember some ridiculous instances, LSR?

I myself think that what's given is given. The only thing left to decide is whether to give the player more than one match. But all this appealing doesn't appeal to me at all.

that's all ancient history. he never had anything to do with the last 3 cups, still one more than Barça ever had. But hey, we live to aspire. And to be proud of who we are. And to improve ourselves. And in thanks to our God.

Post by fcb Tue Nov 14, 2006 1:25 am

I was looking at the table/fixtures, and reading this article, and noticed a very interesting fact: None of Sevilla, Real Madrid, or Valencia have played each other yet, whereas we've already played all 3 of them (and Zaragoza, and gone away to two of the hardest grounds - Celta Vigo and Depor).
    http://www.fcbarcelona.com/eng/noticias/noticias/n06111305.shtml

Researching further, this is Real Madrid's record against the only top 10 teams they've played so far:
    RM 2-0 Barca Grr
    RM 0-0 Villarreal
    Getafe 1-0 RM
    RM 1-1 Atletico
I'll include Celta to make the comparison even since we've played them: RM 1-2 Celta

Valencia have only played Getafe and Atletico and beat them both, but lost many points to smaller teams.

And Sevilla have only played (and beaten) Getafe and Celta, and were probably robbed at Atletico.

So all in all, after that schedule, I'm a bit more happy being top of the league Smile
