Yeah, I was having trouble with getting it the right size.

Incidentally, the building collapsing was WTC7, the third building to collapse that day. And the first ever steel-framed high-rise structure to collapse due to 'fire'.

Yo Boro, i realise that Kuyt would be more than a welcome addition to the Boro, however would you not have preferred to be linked with a quality centre-back and/or a centre-midfielder i'd see those as more important areas to deal with first

Are you at all dissapointed that you lot were not in the running for big Sol ? i realise hes not been at his best but surely he'd do a hell of a lot better than Ehiogu has done for you recently ?

Defintly would prefer a centre back mate...we're still being linked with Huth and Distin. NOthing has gone on for a couple of weeks though.

As for Campbell...no. I really didnt want him, i honestly dont think he'd do that much better than Ugo or any of the kids anymore. Too much baggage.

    Some of them have though.

People complain about the money Chelsea spend, but since the year 2000, Man United have made some very baffling transfers to be fair. They also have 3 of the 4 highest transfers in british history (Rio, Rooney, Veron) the latter who they spent a hell'uva lot of money on, and then let go for half the price a couple of years later.

They also wasted money on the likes of Kleberson, Djemba Djemba, Howard, plus a 50% loss on what they spent for RVN when they sold him.

Nobody can doubt what SAF has achieved, but I just think that in the last few years, some of their transfers have been very crazy.

Well, 2/3 the price, which was still a hell of a lot of money.

They also wasted money on the likes of Kleberson, Djemba Djemba,

Mistakes, certainly, but not particularly expensive ones

    Howard,

Could still be a very good keeper - did enough in his first season to justify the fee

plus a 50% loss on what they spent for RVN when they sold him.

Yes, but they bought him at 25 and sold him at 30. That makes a huge difference.

Nobody can doubt what SAF has achieved, but I just think that in the last few years, some of their transfers have been very crazy.

Perhaps, but Rooney (21.75 mill so far), Ronaldo (12.5), Heinze (7), and Park (4.5) were all excellent signings, and the players coming through the ranks provide cover in almost every position. I don't think that Man U's squad is that shabby at all, and I think that aside from the oft-mentioned Djemba Djemba and Kleberson, Fergie's not done too badly at all. I also like the look of Vidic a lot, as well as Evra, though he's been bought for European football more than English.

Even though Sir Alex is the best manager in recent history if there was a viable, younger alternative to him I would be happy to see Sir Alex retire and be replaced because i dont think Ferguson has it left in him to rebuild the team into a force that will dominate chelsea, liverpool, etc. He also seems to not want to deal with certain players and can often get a bit sidetracked in personal vendettas (eg magnier, arsene wenger). It would also go some way to proving to me that the glazers want success

Sure, I think that Man U could get a better manager for the task, but I think that maybe Fergie's got it in him. As the man said - to get last year's squad into 2nd position, with 83 points, and a domestic trophy (albeit the 4th trophy on offer) is a heck of an achievement, particularly given that the previous summer he sold 2 players and bought two players, both on the cheap, yet both were outstanding successes.

So, who is the bright young managerial star to take his place? I'm thinking that if O'Neill is a success at Villa then he puts himself right back on the map because they've been in decline for almost 20 years. Man U have never, to my knowledge, had a continental manager so I'm looking around and all I see is O'Neill, Allardyce, McClaren, Strachan. No other manager has had domestic success and European experience of any note, and both are a must for Fergie's replacement.

So, what are we looking at?

    Spuds fear new snub
    http://www.sportnetwork.net/main/s342/st102021.htm?fromrss=1

North-London giants Tottenham Hotspuds have confirmed they are not interested in signing Inter Milan striker Obafemi Martins. The 21-year old Nigerian is subject of transfer speculation with Premiership clubs Newcastle United, Chelsea, Portsmouth and Spurs being linked over the weekend.

The pacey forward asked for a transfer earlier this week and is set to leave the Italian champions due the arrival of Hernan Crespo.

Tottenham Hotspud was reportedly interested but when they heard of Newcastle United's interest they decided to withdrawn all negotiations.

According to a Tottenham spokesman the club wanted to avoid another snub in favour of Newcastle United.

Meanwhile, Spuds are trying to persuade Egyptian striker Hossam Mido to return to London, but it's widely expected that he will reject a move back to White Hart Lane.

    lol! Those crazy spuds. Laughing
