His record for Ajax and Holland will actually be pretty tough to beat.

This whole argument is stupid anyway, virtually every Arsenal fan on here is a big fan of Berbatov.

My point. If you just looked at Bergkamp's scoring stats for Arsenal they are not that great. From actually watching him play you know he was a seriously special player.

We shouldn't forget David Dein's shady influence at the FA making life easier for Arsenal and therefore for Henry to score.

It can't be a coincidence that the season Dein relinquished his power Henry struggled for form and goals!

Like i said initial investment is fine and normal in business, but when you start paying wages that the club can't afford and spending ridiculous amounts of money - with no intention to break even - then that isn't good for the game. I have no problem with clubs spending within their means, us, Everton, Villa have had some sensible investment, Spurs - i've no problem with what they've been spending. People will get annoyed with West Ham for the same reasons that people got annoyed with Chelsea. <Ale>

We have bought one player so far...yet you accuse us of doing a Chelsea because of pure speculation. We aren't even in for Johnson anyway FFS.

It's not like we'll keep doing it anyway.

That's their money though, i just don't like seeing clubs run at a loss, they should be run properly.

Spurs were takenover and started to splash the cash. They were taken over by ENIC before anyone else was...

Yes, initial investment, like what Villa are getting. They didn't go throwing silly wages around though and they had no intention of running the club at a loss.

Yet you have been doing this for ages and are in a fair bit of debt Erm

From our stadium expansion yes. Freddy went over the top during the Souness era though and we made a loss, a big reason why i wanted him out. ok

So then don't we deserve a chance to see what happens in the next few yeasr with the investment...before judging us in a similar way to Chelsea...

I suggested that Dyer should play right back in the Brazil match thread. Its a very obvious decision to make, especially considering how poor and clumsy Carragher looked on Friday. And, though Im not sure what hed do if asked to play there for Newcastle, for England hes done it a few times and been quite threatening, and will help Beckham on the overlap. The idea of Estonia 'chiefs' mourning Englands demise is pretty funny.

If you want a radical, attacking formation how about

    Gerrard--Terry--King--Bridge
    ---------Hargreaves
    ----Beckham----Lampard
    -Dyer-----Crouch------Cole

Gerrard gives attacking width and we don't need the world's best RB anyway. Beckham can float (he will anyway). Dyer is better further forward, and he's a better dribbler than Gerrard.
