An interesting read on how the affluence of EPL has detached footballers from their traditional working class affiliations with left wing politics. It's also a reflection of society at large which has become apolitical and issue-driven but nevertheless a good read. Only complaint is that the conclusion is a little weak, and though Ronay mentions Lucarelli he could have discussed Thuram and also Olegeur and Lizarazu who are not even mentioned.
