    @blut

I already thought of starting this thread myself, but refrained from doing so since my support for Werder has dipped somewhat after the atrocious treatment by Bremen fans of Klose

this thread should be in the hands of a true Greenblood

and not a future Bayern fan

    Very Happy

    -----------------------

Bremen obviously need to find a top notch replacement for Klose

as I told chrissi, Werder should break the bank for Helmes

I know about his desire to play for Bayer, but he is DESPERATE to leave Cologne NOW

1 FC dislike Bayer turning Helmes' head and will not just give him away to them

Bremen should step in and offer something un-turndownable like

    15 million Euro

he is on a free next season and this would be an offer they cannot refuse; Bayer would not match this offer either

sign a 3 year contract and tell Helmes he can leave after 2

a win-win situation for everybody other than Bayer

Allofs needs to get more agressive and courageous

    -------------------

Huntelaar would be an investment; young Dutchies always increase in value

personally, I don't rate him that highly at all though; in football terms: stay away from him

Alves would be good but is BRAZILIAN

Werder already have Diego and Naldo and soon Carlos Alberto + Almeida ( a Portuguese speaker)

that is , tbh, already way too much

Werder have to reamain predominently GERMAN

    ie, stay away from Alves

remember, if the likes of Boro feel this is no longer THEIR club they will leave soon (the boy has already said he wanted to play abroad eventually: Spain or England)

Santa Cruz maybe just needs a change of scene; he will cost a steal and would be worth a shot

what about trying to lure SChalke's Larssen away for decent money Question

    as for midfield:

    Boateng is linked with Sevilla

    Bremen should outbid them NOW

You can't replace a proven goal scorer, mature player and leader in the attack with a young talent that still has everything to prove, and has not played a single match in the 1. Bundesliga yet. I hope that even you otto, the holy grail of football knowledge, can agree with that. Besides, Helmes is not worth 15m EUR, that's just ridiculous. He still has everything to prove.

Even with signing both CA and Alves we'd still be a predominantly German club, just look at our squad posted above. However, I agree that it's not the best idea too have too many foreign players from the same background in the squad, because there could be a danger of a cliquey structure in the team, which would hurt team spirit.

Boateng is a wannabe gangsta with a shitty attitude, just like his brother. A great talent, but still has everything to prove, yet a loudmouth of Effenberg proportions. otto, we have enough talents ourselves, we just introduced 3 youngsters from our own youth to the senior team. What we need are proven, experienced players, especially on key positions like DM.

P.S.: Allofs has already spoken to Borowski's agent about extending his contract. This has (and should have) top priority, although I can see why Boro has not extended his contract yet. The last season was rather disappointing for him, being injured most of the time, so he probably wants to wait until he had a couple of good matches for Werder to improve his negotiating position.

    well, do what you like

    I'm only trying to help

    8)

    -------------------

    one thing though

Werder have always been strong at discovering talents

    that's brilliant

    BUT

with Bayern finally starting to shell out the money ,Schalke getting their act together (Assauer gone, Slomka given a proper shot) and Stuttgart starting to establish their credentials , Bremen have to step up one gear

remember, HSV under boring Stevens will start a comeback as well

the Larssen suggestion is a good one

use money to lubricate the deal

the CREATIVE dealmaking as suggested with Helmes does not have to involve 15 million Euro (it could also be 10 , or maybe even just 8 ; remember, Bayer would NEVER pay 8 million for a player they thought is theirs anyway next season

if anybody ever looked like a REAL DEAL it's Helmes

Allofs has to start taking RISKS

players like Diego, Naldo and certainly Borowski will not stay at Werder forever , if they fail to impress in the CL and Bundesliga yet again and cannot even qualify for the CL directly

    lol!

It's hilarious how you already are writing us off for the next season, in your oh so typical way, yet you'll most definitely be the first to join the bandwagon should we prove you wrong and have a great season. Some things will never change.

Good luck as a Bayern fan next season. Or will it be Stuttgart and Schalke? Or HSV again? One never knows when it comes to otto... Very Happy

P.S.: If anything, Bayern will have to deal with enormous pressure next season, they basically have to win. Not just because everyone and their granddad expects them to, but for financial reasons as well. Not playing the CL again with this expensive squad would be a disaster, the risk is quite substantial.

the risk for Bayern is MINIMAL

    they are FILTHY RICH

besides, I have a suspicion that some of the deals are co-financed by the sponsors like Adidas, Allianz or T-Mobil

they want to sell their products in Italy and France as well

Ribery is no risk at all: even if he has two rotten seasons, clubs like Real or Arsenal would still pick him up for 25 million Euros

Toni's salary is high, but the transfer costs are low; Dummenigge has already said they will now step up their marketing operation in Italy

Klose is one of the smallest gambles in the history of the sport

an ambitious hard-worker without a massive ego but an eye for the team

good in the air; able to help the German kids as well

still, "my bloved Bayern" could easily have problems at the start of the season; they have to gel as a team and find a system

Bremen and the others HAVE to start as strongly as possible; no lapses allowed

you still have not answered my Larssen or Helmes for 8 million suggestion by the way

    cunning stuff, heh

Cant believe Otto is cheering for Bayern again!! (allthough we all know he is a HSV fan) Bayern will have to deal with the pressure, and people are demanding goals!

Allthough im happy with Klose to Bayern for obvious reasons, I think its again a loss for the Bundesliga.

I mean, without Bayern, die Heimat would have the most exciting league in the world. HSV, Bremen, Stuttgart, Schalke, Dortmund, Berlin etc....could all win it then.

The Klose of the second half of last season won't be missed at all. Klose in top form will definitely be missed, but we will replace him, like we always have when we lost key players.

What some people, e.g. experst like otto, don't get is that Bremen's strenght is the system we play, and the structure of the club. We have a clear concept and therefore can replace key players easier than most of competitors.

    We will be back.

otto, the risk are 70-80m EUR in wages every year. Bayern have spend more than 150m EUR on transfers this summer, if you take the wages into account also (over 70m EUR on transfer fees alone).

That is a lot of money even for Bayern, and not playing the CL again would be a disaster, no matter how many sponsoring deals they've made (Deutsche Telekom might actually be replaced in future, they have too many problems on their own to waste money on sponsoring).

As far as your "cunning" proposals are concenred, I rather let Klaus Allofs do his job, thank you. In Klaus we trust, and knowing him, he already has a couple of deals done.

We'll see who has the last laugh otto. Glory hunters usually become prey themselves. Very Happy

Interesting interview with Allofs about the Klose saga and Bayern:

    Was haben Sie da besprochen?

    http://www.bild.t-online.de/BTO/sport/bundesliga/2007/07/01/allofs-klaus-interview/entschuldigung-hoeness.html

According to Allofs, Hoeness has apologised for the illegal meeting with Klose last season, and admitted that it was wrong.

Well, that might be enough for our board, but our fans won't forget that any time soon.

I don't trust Bayern, they never do anything without purpose. The only way to really hurt us, and I know they love to, would be to lure Allofs or Schaaf (or both) to Munich, the horror scenario from the Werder perspective. Maybe that's why they tried to improve the relations again. Hoeness will retire sooner or later, and getting Allofs as a replacement would both help Bayern and hurt Bremen.

I hope that we do our best to prevent that. I'm not that pessimistic about it though, both Allofs and Schaaf love their job here, and both know that their success is due to the great team work and professional structure of the club. They'd be less effective elsewhere, especially in Munich.

We have to play Eintracht Braunschweig in the first round of the DFB Pokal next season. After the disaster last year, I really hope that we get our act together this year, and do well in the Pokal again, like we traditionally have. Braunschweig shouldn't be a problem under normal circumstances, but nothing is "normal" in cup competitions, they have their own rules.

It looks very retro, I don't mind it really, but I'll wait for the official pictures of the new kit.

Hope that we can get the Nike deal done for next season though, would be great for a ton of reasons.

On the contrary kas. Orange = self-mutilation and infighting = doom

You Barça fans should know this best. Bet you'll be much more successful next year with your new blue away kit. Very Happy

Wannabe style, the bling-bling of international football.

Nothing is as stylish as black, and white. Connoisseurs agree.
