Nobody really knows, I guess. I regarded them as a strong contentor for promotion as they appeared to have a strong squad. But this season they often played poorly, or they played too inconsistent to win. I suppose, if they don't get results quickly, they will play no more part this season.

Köln will probably have to do without Mondragon and Helmes against Freiburg.

Danny Schwarz is a doubtful for 1860 after breaking his rips against St. Pauli. Sven Bender is also slightly injured, while Gebhart is with the u19 (they started EC qualification today against Bosnia with a 8:1 victory)

Would be a great signing for you bounce , just not sure if BMG would let their 'biggest jewel' go. Rolling Eyes
According to transfermarkt.de his contract runs until 2010 and if BMG get promoted this season, then I'd expect him to stay or, my dear Werderaner, you have to dig deeeeeeep into your pockets.
How much did Hoeness pay for Jansen? 10.000.000 € ??? Well, they won't sell him at a bargain price then. Wink

I don´t think they can demand so much money for him yet. Jansen was already a German A international, Marin isn´t even a U21 regular so far. And Jansen is a left footed LB, a rare species...

...but we better should hurry to lure him to Bremen. I would sign him already in the winter break, so he could help our U23 team to qualify for the 3rd League, which is very important.

You are right about Jansen, though Marin is a very special player with huge potential, with this in mind a rare species too. And on top of that, he seems to be a good boy and less ego-ish than some of our other bright talents. He's already quite mature for his age and BMG would make a fool of themselves, if they let him go for peanuts.

Remember the HSV offered 10m for Jansen long before Bayern, but Gladbach rejected that offer. So they hardly could sell him for much less to Bayern then. And apparently even Arsenal and Barca were interested in Jansen back then. There was also a reason for the high offer from Hamburg called "Torschlußpanik" when they were looking for a LB...now they have Sorin, and for Bayern money didn´t matter this sommer...and Jansen was a real Gladbacher unlike Marin...

All in all there were a lot of reasons which made Jansen relatively expensive. Gladbach could never demand anywhere near 10m for Marin; ~4m should be a very good bid for him in the winter break, and we could maybe also loan Niemeyer and Mosquera to Gladbach for a season or two...

Remember that his contract runs until 2010 and for all I know, BMG are not desperately in need of money. They have ambitious aims and need quality players like Marin to get promoted this season, which will be a difficult task to undertake anyway, considering the strength of the 2. Bundesliga. So why would they want to sell him then? If they do not fall for the BIG money offered to them, I really can't see him wearing your fashionable new jersey in January. Wink
