De Sanctis joins Sevilla!!

This is sad, Serie A cannot retain its best keepers... First Abbiati, then De Sanctis... IMO these guys are better than the current keepers at Inter & Milan!!

I wish Inter had bought De Sanctis! Great move by Sevilla!!

I rate Palop at Sevilla highly.

It will be interesting to see who will be first choice next season.

It is a very strange buy. Palop was the hero of last year in the Uefa Cup and from the few matches I have seen of Sevilla in La Liga he impressed.

De Sanctis surely won't want to be a reserve this year?

I will be shocked if he agrees to sit on the bench... it would be a tragedy... I have really rated De Sanctis for over 5 years now, and its sad that no big Serie A club came askin for his services all these years.... one of the finest italian gks of his generation, he ranks next to only Buffon IMO (at the mo). I think he is better than the 3 brazilians at inter, roma & milan...

I hope Sevilla don't waste him on the bench!!

Interesting transfer, Palop has done very well since leaving Valenica but i cant see De Sanctis going there to sit on the bench when im sure he could have joined Lazio as number 1 and played Champs League football. So i expect Palop to leave this summer, but who to ?

Pallop was awesome last year. Arguably the best keeper in the league. I think Sevilla is a side with many overrated players. He isn't one of them.

Palop will possibly be sold - De Sanctis is too good to sit on the bench, but he isn't good enough to replace Palop either and it would be stupid to have two top class keepers.

Has there been any reported interest in Palop? I'm a huge fan and would love him to join us.

Apparently De Sanctis lost it when he heard that Udinese had quoted too high a fee when Lazio came calling, so he invoked fifa article 17 (the first football player to do so in Italy) and cancelled his contract with Udinese. According to Article 17, De Sanctis had to leave Serie A and pay Udinese money, and Sevilla immediately made the offer.

So you could be right... Sevilla might be thinking of keeping both.... Palop better watch out, De Sanctis is no Cobeno... he will take his chances... like I said, I rate him over Cesar, Dida, & Doni.
