What is happening this season, and it probablly started in the last years is a new era in football spending?

Since the 80's, when serie A was the richest league in the world and when money would flow in great quantities within all top italian clubs we haven´t seen so many high spending transfers (except the galaticos but that is a special case).

Do you think the last transfers Torres, Pepe, Anderson, and others and even the possibility of us seeing offers with amounts unimaginable a couple of years ago (like Real to Kaka) are here to stay or these are just isolated cases of the market?

The financial blip in Serie A is now over - I think their fees will begin to pick up now.

The EPL is growing richer and richer too.

We haven't seen a fee majorly break the £30m mark for a few years no, once that happens, you can safely assume that the spending is back to the level it was 6 years ago

To also point Torres , Anderson , Pepe are not ordinary players , they are players with exceptional potential.

thing is in the prem is that the money is mostly just being passed back and forth between the english clubs, just bigger bundles than in the past. Reo coker, bent, parker etc are all over priced but the cash stays in england so no one cares. Seems that 5m gets you a decent championship striker these days, must spend 15 at least to get a decent prem striker.
teams like fulham and sunderland are spending big (in relation to mid-to-lower top flight teams in spain and italy) but are they any better? Players like chopra are a big risk at such a price and kamara wasnt much cop last time so it is strange that they will spend so much on him when you can get just a good a player from abroad for 1/10th of the price...
