Deal may still break down, Marca was claiming Simao wanted a "galactico" wages, and similar thing happened with Valencia last year and the deal broke down.

13M Pounds very good price, if Liverpool were intrested then i cannot see why the didn't try harder, they already missed out on Malouda, and with the Yanks, money isn't a problem.

    Liverpool are imbeciles.

I hope they don't qualify for the CL this season, just to rub in their faces how $h!t this summer has been in terms of transfers.

If they see this they'll bring up the 'potential' arguement of course but so far his potential has been non existent. 7 goals in two seasons for a support striker/winger is laughable, especially when over the same period Simao has managed almost 30 goals as a winger!!!

Simao would produce the goods much quicker, he would need time to adapt. Would have been an ideal signing if Lpool really want to win the EPL.

Main postive about Simao is that he chips in with the goals, and not just a couple good 10-15, and is an experienced player. He knocked the scousers out of the CL a couple of seasons ago - single handedly Wink

    ok

He'd have an immediate impact and he's exactly what they need - he scores goals, is a fantastic passer and has that bit of magic that can chage the 0-0 games, like Garcia had

But Simao would have been able to change games in both the EPL and CL.

Whereas Garcia mainly performed in the CL.

all babel needs to do is be able to knock it around someone and run after it

I think Babel was a bit cheaper (£11.5m according to BBC) but Simao's a more complete player.

Maybe Rafa got pissed off with all the shenanagins with the Portugese, after all Simao didn't seem that bothered about coming to us.

Simao is overrated, but nevertheless he's an improvement on Petrov, who though incredibly fast, is equally as inconsistent. I agree that need to replace Lucchin, and they seem to be eyeing up your very Javi Garcia. Not sure if L Garcia will necessarily start, as they also purcahsed that Santana bloke. Kun should also have a good season.
