Well, Utd are grooming Nani for that role I think. Can't see them going after Ben Arfa any time soon

Actually Ben Arfa could be a good replacement for Giggs, I keep saying it, but he's plays very similar as Giggs, he's quick, left footed can assist and also score. If Nani fails to do well, Ben Arfa could fit very well in Man Utds formation. As for Benzema, I can see him go to Madrid, because that would be his dream destination.

Benzema is obviously a class act, but are both Gakpe and Briand likely to get biggish transfers abroad too? both have looked good in the highlights during the season, although briand is short of confidence in front of goal at the moment

Lloris of Nice had a v good match at the weekend, is this his usual level?

Enjoyed watching Bakari Kone too but not sure he could make a move to a higher level

Obertan is a a future very good one.

Lloris has been playing very well recently, I don't think he'll stay long at Nice. Gapke is very good at assisting, him as well, I don't see him staying long at Monaco or France. Kone is quite good but very irregular.

How do the French posters rate Mathieu Valbuena?

Liverpool fans know all about him with that wonderful goal he scored at Anfield. But I seen a European football highlights show the other week and see him score two magnificent goals against Caen

    First goal of the brace

    Second goal of the brace

Flash in the pan, or hidden gem unearthed from the lower leagues?

I like very much. He's doing a 'Ribery' this year. Lots of people were disappointed he wasn't called for France. The goal he scored against Caen was even better than the one against Liverpool. Valbuena is very good player, the surprise of the year so far. When Nasri and him play well the whole team is playing better. I hope Marseille can continue the way they are playing so that can notch the third place.

Bordeaux have actually a very good team, with some quality players, plus they have Laurent Blanc as coach.
It's a good mix of French players (Micoud, A.Diarra, Obertan, Bellion, Planus) and South American (Wendel, Cavenaghi, Alonso, Fernandao).

Bellion is having a good season and Cavenaghi (the ex River Plate super star) is starting to score goal after goal. With Lyon playing the C.L and Bordeaux the U.E.F.A cup, I wouldn't be surprised these two teams battle until the last day. Blanc has been doing an excellent job for his first season as a coach. Congrats to him.

I don't really agree, Ribery is terrible physically, so who knows. Anyway it's to early to say if he can make it to highest level since he's a new comer. This guy was playing in the third division not a long time ago. He needs to confirm his form next year and so forth. Maybe he'll have a season wonder then will be sold to a shitty club.

    scratch

    He's weak but very fast.

Valbuena is very gifted but doesn't have strength or pace.
