Commentator just called this the biggest game in Italy..

Thought Milan-Inter and Juve-Milan were bigger games tbh.

Cambiasso's goal ruled offside... close call, but he was standing on the back of a wall on an Ibra freekick....

    Fair.

bluenine wrote:Excellent observations as always, Pirlo.

I think Juve's defence are doing a great job and defending very high, but that can be dangerous with someone like Ibra... one killer pass, and they defence will be too behind to help. Just like what happened in Cesar's pass thru to El Jardinero.

Inter's defence has been subline, they have given Juve no room and do not look troubled at all so far. We need to attack more thru the right, using Maicon and Figo, that hasn't happened enough so far... we are attacking from the left, and Cesar goes too much into the middle, while Chivu alone can't penetrate. More of the right flank, thats what I would like to see. Test Molinaro more.

What does the Juve banner say??

    Pirlo wrote:
Yo Blue, very open match but not much construction, if Juve keep pressing as high and as agressive as they were doing for periods then Inter will catch them on the break, it was a fantastic goal, super finish by 'Il Jardinero' who slays Hunchbacks for his supper.

Samuel, Zanetti and Chivu have been brilliant, i'd like to see Maicon take the initiative in the second half more. Nedved has been very selfish and wasted possession instead of chosing the better options, Del Piero's flick for Palladino was sublime, otherwise its been a very rushed and frantic half,

Not quite sure what to make of Juve's banner, but i'm sure it amuses them at least lol! I'm not surprised the kick off was deleayed, the Juve fans have to travel all the way up the country to get to Turin, its a long trip Biggrin <Ale>

Iaquinta and Suazo are warming up. Don't think Iaquinta's inclusion will change the line of the Inter defence, Ranieri will probably switch to a trident which will give him more power and presence up front and switch Juve's system, but the inclusion of Suazo for Inter is a big problem for Ranieri. There's no way he can keep pressing Inter as high, his teams line is already just behind the halfway line, if Suazo is on then that's way to much space and Inter have the passers on the pitch to exploit that. Two potential tactical and match-changing substitutions about to be made, i wonder who's going to get the balance right. I'm going for Inter, and Maicon really needs to start pressing up on Moilinaro and keeping Juve's left side more worried.

Juve's offside trap has helped them so far, but its too risky, they are already getting the benefit of some very close calls.

The banner was shown before kick off along the Curva and read 'The pitch speaks the truth'

Over a 100 years, this game is bigger than any in Italy... now I think its the Milan derby, but only just.

There is a reason why this is called the Derby of Italy.

It's an excellent call. With Iaquinta's intriduction and Palladino moving further foward Juve are comitting more attacks and men foward. They are going to get completely controlled on the counter, their line is far too high and they were saved there by Buffon, fantastic save from Ibrahimovic!

You're right there. Ranieri is leaving it too thin at the back. Its a massive risk but then I guess he does not have much choice considering the importance of the match

I think Ranieri should leave out Nedved and Del Piero. Palladino and Iaquinta give them much more directness and ability to face an opponent and force them back. Del Piero and Nedved stop the game and put the opponent on the front foot, its not the best when you don't have any pace in your side and the midfield isn't at all that creative. It'll be a hard call to make, since both are symbols of Juventus, but the team must come first.

Ouch! you can see how much it means to Juventus, they're charging around as if they just won the Champions League! This match has been hijacked by that silly 'revenge' nonsense and the Juve players have been caught up in it, Inter have played the match very calmly and detached. interesting to see now whether Juve go for a win and continue to press or whether they drop their lines back which i think will consolidate a point for them.
