So Patrício stays in the goal, and Adrien Silva get his CL debute. Good things for both these guys.

No Miguel Veloso or Romagnoli. Moutinho playing in a position he likes, but rarely gets to play in.

Paulo Bento still playing to win but making some changes.

Well played lads , Roma were very dissapointing.
At 1-0 I thought bluenine would be praying comeon Roma for the honour of Serie A come on god damn it.

Frustrating finish as I think we could've gone on. I won't say deserved to go on because that's football, and if you don't get things right... can't get the rewards.

Sporting in the knock-out rounds would've been a good thing though and I don't think Roma wanted it any more than us and actually did less than us to get there.

Sporting 3-0 D. Kieve, and into the UEFA cup with us... heads somewhat high.

I really think Luso Roma arent that specia(so far at least)l and Sporting could have qualified

Liedson with 4 goals and among the best so far.
He's out so he won't stay up there for long, but had they allowed that goal in Manchester he'd have 5 and we'd have 3 more points...1 at the least.

Yup agreed, just some bad luck.

For people that saw the game, how did Antunes play?
At least Sporting got to the minimum that they deserved from this group, Uefa Cup. Lets hope that the problems they're having this season are sorted out before the competition starts, we need a good run from them.

He did another dissapearing act well , outdone by Pique.

Antunes is an interesting case IMO. No one in Portugal picked him up from Paços de Fereira, which is a small club, and yet he goes to Serie A to play for Roma which is a relatively rich club.

Sporting seemed interested at the beginning of the season, and yet nothing happened. Considering that Ronny, our LB, just generally sucks I'm thinking Antunes wouldn't have been any more of a risk than we're already taking.

If he does well in Italy I'm thinking it'll prove the big 3 we're asleep on this guy... or that any 'doubts' they had about him were wrong.
