... You think too much of them CotR. Having seen this result I'm Roeder will see that they're much more of a threat playing 4-6-0, passing the ball from wing to wing and then shooting from 30 yards.

I couldn't give a fook about Liverpool, i've made 2 or 3 comments a couple of weeks back. Now that chap won't stop banging on about it.
Feel free to carry on though, i rarely responded to numpty comments on 606 and i'll rarely respond to them on here.

Newcastle are so underrated after that performance
I still think you'll finish between 8th and 13th though

Re: Martins joins Newcastle
Newcastle have some serious problems, they have deadwood from the last two managers and little money available to spend, desperately need to revamp their defence, find a combination upfront that will work (currently difficult with everyone injured)
Next season should they keep a fit squad could begin to be a rebuilding season, at the moment with the injuries its impossible to try new stuff as a squad.

Why do you think we have little money to spend? We've spent £15m on Duff and Oba and we're still being linked to players, i expect a couple of new players in before the window... not expensive ones however.
This season is a transition period for us, Roeder needs to spend this season putting HIS squad together. A full back or 2 is needed, the current ones are just too poor defensively and put far too much pressure on the center backs. I don't really know who you're talking about when you say injuries, everyone should be fit for the Fulham game(bar Dyer and Owen).
This season we should aim for a top 6 finish, hopefully 5th as we were only 7 points away last season.

I dont believe you have a lot of money for a few reasons, the amount you have recently spent in comparison to your revenue made, the lack of Champions league football + TV revenue will certainly have dented FF wallet

Re: Martins joins Newcastle
Underrated ?
I dont want to sound harsh but to finish 14th then 7th in the last two seasons suggesting a mid-table team and currently occupy an empty trophy cabinet.
How on Earth can they be considered Underrated ?
I like some of the players they have at the club, but at the moment they are really some way off creating a strong unit of 20+ players, with a solid formation (hard to pull off with key players out) with tactics relative.

But when we were in the champions league we barely spent anything, and we've been making very healthy profits for years now(bar last year). I'm pretty sure we have some money left, no need to worry about that.

Re: Martins joins Newcastle
You may not have spent a great deal, however you did have a larger wage bill which would consume some more of what was being made. Not to mention the long-term loan that Newcastle have. Financially stable, but certainly not in a state of prosperity. If it wasnt for the fact St James Park is a sell out every fortnight, you certainly wouldn't be in a position to fund high profile transfers ever.
I believe from 5-8 should be Newcastles goal this season, but it would not surprise me if that was not obtained, as there is vicious competition for those spots and around 7 clubs have the potential to get there.

Maybe it is larger, BUT we do have a strict salery cap. A crtain percentage of our income is set aside for wages and Freddy won't go over it.
Looking at our squad(especially the midfield) 5th or 6th should be our aim. I mean we finished 7th last year with a weaker squad. I see no better midfield outside the top 4.

this is not my point, what I'm saying is that if you become too one dimentional teams who want to get a point from you will know how to. Similarly teams that go one up against you can just sit back and play on the counter.
This is my "point"
hate to say I told you so

Nothing serious, just a dead leg, he'll be back for our next game on the 9th of september.
He was playing well all things considered, it was a poor performance from the team and he was playing up on his own but he still managed to make some good runs and touches. To be honest we're usually shite away from home.
Our next game is against Fulham at home and he'll have Ameobi there to partner him, there won't be a better game to get off the mark in.
