Frank...Barca wanted this guy not long ago. There paper had articles on him everyday. Madrid have wanted him. He responded by signing a new contract. Once people get used to being in England that preference is now gone, because the money is just the same the level of football is the same, and you are winning big things. Henry would not have left Arsenal if they were winnings things.
Man Utd also play Ronaldo style football. To your average latin player madrid/barca would be there preference, but once they are already at man utd thats very different frank believe me

He won't move to Italy.

So it's only stay with us or move to Madrid or Barca. I reckon he'll stay another two years then we'll have another summer of stories about him moving on.

As for the front 6 staying at Man. Utd, don't think there's much chance of that. Fletcher and Ronaldo are the two most certain to move on at some point, one to smaller things (Fletcher) and one to bigger things (Ronaldo).

I was just looking at the ages of the young players in our squad in 5 years time. I know that not all these players will be in the first team in 2012 for different reasons.

Our current back five in 5 years time will be:


Vidic and Evra will probably still be around. Back up Pique/Evans and Fabio.
Neville and VDS retired because of age. Replaced by New RB and Foster or New GK.
Rio retired to go into music or tv or because he got too much money. Replaced by Pique or Evans if they are good enough.

As for the front 6, if Ronaldo is sold and Fletcher is no longer at the club then we have plenty of other options.

Hargreaves + Carrick or a young CM player coming through or a new signing.

Then 4 from: Saha's replacement?, Rooney, Tevez, Anderson, Nani, Park.

Real Madrid - with Robben and Robinho i don't think they need Ronaldo, plus if they do go for anyone then it will be Kaka imo.

Barcelona - if they sell Ronaldinho next summer then they could go after Ronaldo or instead they might not need him depending on how Giovani Dos Santos and Bojan develop.
