    Yeah he's good enough for the Barcelona, R.Madrid, and Valencia first teams apparently. Yet there he is playing for Man U reserves. Rolling Eyes

    So says all the Spainish teams supporters.

    Even I was suprised when some said they'd pay 10 million euros for him.

    so special despite the fact you had a lack of striking options fergie saw fit to let him go. IF he'd wanted to keep him he could have easily done so, all he had to say was you'll get a good few games this season, and i'm sure he'd have had one more season. saf couldn't make that promise despite only having saha as an out and out CF, with rooney and tezez as forwards who like to drop off, and yet despite all this he's let him go, albeit with a by back clasue but id doesn't smack of over confidence, just doesn't want to be made to looka fool if he suddenly hits it off. why didn't it work out a newcastle for him, if he was such a hot prospect, its one thing looking good in your reserves, a fewU21 games and even a few months on loan, but imho by this stage in his career he should be doing a whole lot better, spanish footy may be good for him, just don't think he'd have ever cut the style adopted in the prem.

    He is just 20 still i think, i don't know how much more you want. You are making judgements on things that have nothing to do with his ability or what you have seen.
    Watch him in 5+ games and tell me what you think. Roeder was playing a big man small man for Newcastle. Would he play a guy on loan from man utd or a guy who cost newcastle 10 million? He was an inept manager anyway.
    Man Utd have 4 second strikers already frank, Rossi just could not fit in right now. Where he has played regular, ie man utd reserves, Parma first team he has been a huge success. <Ale>

    what i'm saying is you have basically 3 strikers so a fourth in the squad could and should have played a lot of matches, especially with Saha's injury proneness, and rooney's the way it is going, so a 4th striker at utd this season should and would have in all probability played a decent amount of matches, whether they be leading the line or an SS as you describe it

    I am still not sure playing Rooney and Tevez together (specially if Tev has to lead the line) and you are talking about Rossi and Rooney/Tevez , its a no go specially in EPL.

    lrd don't tell me your counting dong or campbell in the 4, and giigs et all are midfield players imho that makes 3. and man utd reserves is no judge of a players' ability its why more and more younger players are being farmed out on loan to other clubs cos the reserve league offers no decent competition, its a glarified youth league, with the odd injured player returning not like 15 years ago when those who weren't in the side played cos now with rotation much more a factor there isn't any need or wish to play them in such meaningless matches

    No i am not including them players. Tevez, Ronaldo, Rooney and Giggs all have played as second strikers, and three of them prefer that role to any other. Anderson can also play this role. Rossi said he wants to be in the first team or sold, so he was sold as clearly he would be on the bench more of the time.
    In reserve team football nobody else was doing half as good as he was. It isnt a great judgement, but you can see how skillful and talented he was. Nobody stood out like he did, even going back to Beckham etc.

    The united team for the future is the best, but then it cost nearly £90m so its expected.

    @Frank

    Rossi is class, watch him play for Villareal and you will soon see why the united fans rate him so highly.

    The reason he left was because he wanted guaranteed first team football, he is not better than Rooney or Tevez (although I am starting to wonder) at the moment, so he couldnt guarantee first team football. We never include by back clauses, but have on Rossi because SAF knows he is special.

    @Kimbo

    I dont think any united fans have hyped up Pique or Evans. The Spanish posters are the ones who hyped Pique after watching him play in La Liga, some Real and Barca fans even said they would like him in their team.

    it was widely reported to be about £2m for the loan. carson was quoted as saying there was an option to buy but i don't think a figure was confirmed. i heard rumours of £9-10m, but that might've just been because this was the same time as gordon was bought for that amount (who we were rumoured to be in for).

    in short, i can neither confirm or disconfirm it.
