Czech Republic take the lead against Wales. Wales will feel aggrieved because the goalscorer looked offside.

Bollocks. The Czech's just scored, undeservedly. Shame really, Wales had been playing really well and had hit the post just a moment earlier.

Encouraging performance though. I said I thought they could sneak second in this group. It may be overly ambitious, but on the basis of this performance it's possible. They'll need to beat one of the German's or Czech's at home though; they can't afford to lose to either at home.

What a terrible own goal! The player didn't seem to be under that much pressure and just panicked. Wales have done well so far, Czech Rep have had lots of possession but haven't been very incisive.

And the Czech's win a fairly entertaining game. Wales deserved a point though IMHO. Good watch though - both teams were playing very nice football. Giggs and Rosicky were a class above.

    Germany 1-0 Ireland FT

Lucas Podolski scoring with a deflected freekick. Germany deserved the win and could have had more.

    Podolski scores from a deflection?

I thought, according to Deisler, that only Lampard could score deflected goals?

It was a massive deflection as well, didn't even look like a good freekick. In fairness Germany had a lot of chances and it was the least they deserved.

Henry has been given the third goal according to SSN. A bit weird seeing as he was ten metres away from the ball.

No. Innocuous cross from Sagnol into the box towards Henry and the defender puts it in. Henry is five metres away from it.

How bizarre. Both BBC and Reuters have credited it to Henry as well. Henry must be closing in on France's all-time record now? How many does Platini have, 41?

Lithuania might upset more big teams in the euro qualification. Forget the result against italy, i was more impressed with their organistaion and ability on the ball. some of their defenders are shit( playing people onside, poor posititional sense at times etc) but because they defend as a team, they are not that easy to score against. The midfielders and attackers ok all of them can actually play if u know what i mean; i loved the way they played the ball from midfield to their attackers even under pressure. It's hard to believe they are an inexperienced team on the international stage because their game is so matured. Maybe i have gone too far judging them after one match but i was really impressed.

France watch out! you've always found it difficult to beat such opponents.
