Is Gladkiy playing? He's supposedbly a very promising player. In any case they've got Vorobei and Voronin.

Don't underestimate Georgia. They suplied plenty of (very skilled) players to the great USSR teams.

Dinamo Tblisi was a great club side in the 80s. They won the Cup winners Cup in 1981.

Gabelia - Kostava, Chivadze, Khisanishvili, Tavadze - Svanadze (67 Kakilashvili), Sulakvelidze, Daraselia - Gutsaev, Kipiani (c), Shengelia

The 3 in bold were truely worldclass

I know Georgia can play some, but Scotland have done so well throughout only to fall short when the objective is right in fron of their noses. <Ale>

Wasn't Mikhailichenko (?) from Georgia or was he Ukrainian? Great, awesome central midfielder. <Ale>

Yo Deano! believe it or not I was rooting for England. You HAVE to make it to Euro '08. Russia are a better team. Even though I was rooting for England, in the prediction game we have going I used my joker (double pts) on Russia winning.

I think I got 190 pts just in this game. Easy pick for many reasons, for starters using Lescott as fullback is asinine, then Gerrard as central midfield is just INSANE (as Fey puts it), then Owen just came off from being injured, Robinson is the goalie... Rose

Russia aren't a better team...you know it and we know it. Doesn't help having none of the first 3 Left Backs there...a shite goalkeeper and a plastic pitch (may I add wet to that description)...and a penalty that was not a penalty (a foul outside the box).

You are entitled to dislike England and cheer who you want...but please don't try and anger the angry with repetitive comments about Russia being better and that the result isn't a surprise

    Thanks Ale

For ME, Russia are the superior team. For you and some others England are the superior team, and that's cool.

Russia have too much class in their midfield for Gerrard and company to cope. England HAVE to make it to Euro '08 though. <Ale>

I train twice a week...once on a plastc pitch. When it rains, we can't always play on it...due to it being slippery, hard to play on and dangerous.

Not just a plastic pitch. A DRY grass pitch needs to be sprayed prematch too.

Remember some of the matches during the 2006 WC. The grass was sticky and slow.
