I don't know if Russia are superior, but they played better today and deserved the win.

if England fails to qualify, then good riddance... A team that cannot qualify in an easy group like that do not deserve it.

You are entitled to dislike England and cheer who you want...but please don't try and anger the angry with repetitive comments about Russia being better and that the result isn't a surprise

For ME, Russia are the superior team. For you and some others England are the superior team, and that's cool.

Russia have too much class in their midfield for Gerrard and company to cope. England HAVE to make it to Euro '08 though. <Ale>

. A DRY grass pitch needs to be sprayed prematch too.

That's totally different and obvious. It's dangerous for it not to be watered. A plastic pitch becomes slippery and causes many injuries.

    -Yes England should be qualifying.
-It's not an easy group. Croatia and Russia are both good teams. Israel in their home country are also hard to beat...their tactics are very defensive and are hard to break down. England should qualify no problem...but this easy group stuff is rubbish.

Depends on the kind of artifical pitch. Hiddink makes Russia play a passing gfame, he needs to win, so he wants the best possible pitch. Believe me, that pitch would have been worse if it was unsprayed.

By the way I'm against artifical pitches for matches.

It doesn't matter whether they draw or lose... as long as they drop points, it tilts the balance HUGELY in Italys favour.... coz if the scots drop any points tonight, they will need to win against Italy, instead of a draw...

The Russians showed an amazing control on the ball (when the ball was kept low) and some decent tricks too, there's more talent in that team than I expected.

If Guus actually has the time to do some proper teambuilding with them, they might surprise us some more ok

It was a bit weird to see the Russian players being much better technically than the English side.. almost parked outside the English box.

I hope england qualify, its always good to have them in a competition... specially coz I live in england, I want the Euro to be big here!!!

The problem is that now the onus is on Russia... if they win their next two games against Israel and Andora, then england are almost certianly out.

So do I. Don't want other EPL clubs to have key players who can rest all summer.
