many are now seeing the benefits of having him in the side as compared to torres, torres played far too much for himself and v rarely worked back. Forlan has scored goals created far more than torres would have had this stage, and can hold the ball up much better. The poll prior to the start of the season would have probably been totally reversed and poss some. its worked out so far for torres but we are defo BETTER off NOW

Young will cause whoever plays at RB for Man United problems. I just hope Tevez , Ronaldo and Rooney continue their good work.

aye, young could do some damage but not sure we'll have enough up front to capitalise, although gabby could nab a goal - he has a tendancy to score against the big clubs. we'll miss carew because he will at least always give the central defenders some work to do (btw is vidic injured?). then of course the question is how our defence will stand up. not sure either of our full backs will cope if ronaldo is on form.

Frank I am not sure how many times you want to revisit this topic bit it seems an almost daily occurrence

Let's just say you have a better team because you signed a hell of a lot of top quality players this summer (who torres would also have benefited hugely from playing alongside) and we have signed a player who has already been a huge success

no matter how much moaning you do it is not going to make torres seem a failure because you know he isn't

with regards to madrid... are you better off without him... well this is an question we will never know the answer to.. with him alongside the quality you now have would have been a very different proposition... But as you got a huge fee for him which has enabled the squad strengthening to such a extent we can declare oursevles both very very happy with how things worked out

It's not that big a difference...Maxi is still starting, Simao has been poor, and the only good new addition is Raul Garcia. Ok, maybe he alone would make the difference, but that's difficult to prove. If anything, (and this is another repeated point), Torres' departure has freed up Aguero and the effects of that are clear to see with El Kun's 5 goals.

van der Sar could return and Vidic , these are two important players for Man United this season no doubt. I'm not sure who will be at RB. Ronaldo is getting back to his best for both club and country , so this will be a big test for the Aston Villa fullbacks.

I think Ronaldo is one goal behind Fabregas Biggrin it didn't last long , the King is back and Fabregas can go back to being the apprentice.

No I didn't see that, Nike advert I take it? Why would Cesc want to waste his energy in such a meaningless event, makes much more sense to let a showpony like Ronaldo prance around and hog all the attention. Wink

Ronaldo gets paid to be the best. I think these past 2 years (for club and country) he has proven hes no1 role is to 'score goals' then create goals. Of course hes more likely to create more goals than score them in any given season because he is played as a winger , but can cut in and join the attack.

Finally some good news for Spurs:

    Robinson to miss Newcastle match
    ----------
England goalkeeper Paul Robinson has been ruled out of Tottenham's match at Newcastle on Monday by a calf strain.

The 28-year-old picked up the injury in his England's 2-1 defeat against Russia in Moscow on Wednesday.

Robinson was criticised for his part in Roman Pavluchenko's winner, which left England on the brink of failing to qualify for Euro 2008.

Radek Cerny is set to deputise at St James' Park, because England Under-21 keeper Ben Alnwick is on loan at Luton.

Jol did not indicate how long Robinson is likely to be absent for.

Robinson has suffered a dip in form for both club and country this season although boss Martin Jol and England coach Steve McClaren have perserved with their number one.

The former Leeds keeper parried Alexei Berezutsky's shot into the path of Pavluchenko who finished from close range to dent England's qualifying bid.

It was the latest in a series of errors that have cost both Tottenham and England dearly.
