Milner on for N'Zogbia doesnt sound wise to me. I dont know what the tactical idea behind that is, considering N'Zogbia was one of our better players particularly towards the end of the half, and was the only midfielder going at players and providing width - especially since, so far, it seems Milner is actually going on the left, where I never think he plays particularly well. I thought that Milner would maybe go to the right and Emre would go on the left wing.

All three of our summer centre back signings look threatening from corners, and goals from corners is something we havent had in past seasons.

My point about the lack of creativity of Spurs' attack is even more important. Never help a team that can't create themselves.Agooner wrote:jonathan de guzman wrote:why risk loosing the ball on midfield, which could lead to a dangerous counterattack? they´ve scored one and nearly scored another from those long balls but it was more down to careless mistakes from dawson and kaboul
I guess your point about their defence is right...However any other defence with two giants at the back would easily deal with long balls played to owen and martins

Milner scores. Even without the liability that is Paul Robinson, the Spurs defence is awful.

I wouldn't sack Jol just yet. I'd give him until the end of the year to prove he wants to keep his job. His best defender has been out (King who happens to be England's best central defender), and I think Jol will right the ship. Big mistake by Tottenham if they sack him now.

Not bad at all.
John Halls played as well. Facing the team where he started his career at.

Game finishes Newcastle 3-1 Spurs. The pressure mounts on Jol.

Cesc, I guess that was meant to be in the Arsenal thread. We did well against a strong, experienced side. I have no idea how we played though. Good to see Halls back, he played really well at Stoke a few seasons back, but has dropped off the radar in recent years.

Congrats Kimmy
Jol's lost the dressing room totally. Just to put things into perspective as well, those who keep saying we'll pick up. It's surely too late now, we're 10 points behind Newcastle. 11 behind the likes of Pompey and Blackburn, and 15 behind Man City. Cr@p.

Us, Villa, Blackburn, and WHU have a game in hand aswell. It's bleak TS, very bleak. It reminds me of us last season.

The BBC haven't lost their Spuds biass...
They put this pic in the match report:

He fucks up for 2 goals & they show him winning a header...

Gotta love up Dawson, don't they ?
I have long said in the past Dawson's style of no-holds barred defending, and last ditch blocks/tackles etc. clouds peoples views. He has no pace, doesn't lead, and his marking/distribution/awareness are frankly $h!t.
Yet you have some Spurs fans who think he's better than Rio Ferdinand.

If Mourinho had any real guts he would take on the job at Spurs if it was offered. He has proved to most people what he can do else where. Why not take on a real challange and try and do what Cloughie was able to create something out of nothing.....
