But so far Man U fans must be pulling their hair out in frustration. 17 million quid, signed a year later than planned and he's played a matter of minutes and it's getting to the end of October...

Re: What summer buy looks the worst now
Hargreaves broke his leg last season, which would rule out any player for a while. And given his position, I wouldn't call him injury prone.

And it gets compounded because we keep losing midfield players.

Like Robert said (as annoying as it is) it has meant Anderson can get games and I think he's suprised everyone.
Anderson > Fabregas.

Van Persie's been pretty Cr@p.
A presumptious apology for the use of stats but before he got injured he had something like four goals and three games as well as being the second highest scorer in the permiership.

Still, compared to expectations, Adebayor is the forward that has impressed everyone so far.

No way Bianchi, he has been injured for a month and then the games he has played he has done well in.

Bent runs him close though, for the cash and where Tottenham are possibly due to wasting the money on him
Babel's a kid, writing him off is ridiculous.
Hargreaves, for the money, his age and reputation is a massive flop. I think the stats are that thanks to injury prone-ness he's only played 13 competitve games EVER.

.
Why buy a kid when you need an instant impact? 13 mill or so and offered nothing at all, and looks like a waste of money. $h!t buy thanks

In theory they'll be able to takeover from Giggs and Scholes in a years time. So they weren't expected to start important matches this season.kas wrote:So why did you buy Nani and Anderson?

Because they are huge talents and will add to the team...and it would stop other people buying them. And they can slowly get used to english football as the people they are replacing giggs and scholes retire. Liverpool needed a winger who would be great now, as the first 11 wasnt good enough as it is. Instead they got someone who probably wont ever be any good, and if he will be it wont be this year

Re: What summer buy looks the worst now
Sorry misunderstood your point a bit.
Agreed that Babel was perhaps not the right buy for Liverpool, but I think they should have bought him, raised some funds from Kewell and Pennant (though they don't need that much anyway with the new investors), and bought someone better as a winger. Benayoun is a pointless purchase too.
Babel will still work out well in the long term.

How is that similar.
We are replacing Giggs and Scholes long term and have good wingers already.
Liverpool needed a proven midfielder.

Good point actually, Benayoun should have been in this list

Benayoun > Pennant
But he becomes a pointless signing when Rafa doesn't start him.
